''Male Companion'' (french: Un monsieur de compagnie) is a 1964 romantic comedy film written and directed by Philippe de Broca, based on the 1961 novel ''Gentleman in Waiting'' by André Couteaux. The film stars Jean-Pierre Cassel. Plot Antoine was raised into the easy life by his very rich grandfather. Following the death of his grandfather, the money has gone and Antoine falls under the influence of various "easy" people. Philippe de Broca (; 15 March 1933 – 26 November 2004) was a French movie director. He directed 30 full-length feature films, including the highly successful ''That Man from Rio, That Man from Rio (''L'Homme de Rio'')'', ''Le Magnifique, The Man from Acapulco (Le Magnifique)'' and ''On Guard (1997 film), On Guard (Le Bossu)''. Paolo Stoppa Knight Grand Cross (6 June 1906 – 1 May 1988) was an Italian actor. Biography Born in Rome, he began as a stage actor in 1927 in the theater in Rome and began acting in films in 1932. As a stage actor, his most celebrated works include those after World War II, when he met director Luchino Visconti: the two, together with Stoppa's wife, actress Rina Morelli, formed a trio whose adaptations of works by authors such as Chekhov, Shakespeare and Goldoni became highly acclaimed. Giustino Durano
Giustino Durano (5 May 1923 – 18 February 2002) was an Italian actor best known for his work as Eliseo Orefice in the 1997 film ''Life Is Beautiful.'' For his role, he was nominated in part for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast. ''Life Is Beautiful'' The movie is centered on his nephew Guido and his son Giosuè. In the movie, he is the head waiter of a hotel dining room. As racial turmoil begins erupting in Italy against Jews, the waiter, his nephew and the nephew's son are taken to a concentration camp. While at the camp, he was separated from his nephew and later killed in a gas chamber along with several other elderly people. Death Durano died in 2002 after a long battle with cancer.
