Maldita Castilla
''Maldita Castilla'' (lit. "Maledict Castile"), known in North America and PAL regions as ''Cursed Castilla'', is a unique 16-bit arcade action video game developed by Locomalito and released in December 2012. The game is primarily based on myths from Spain, European folklore, and cavalry novels. ''Maldita Castilla'' was developed as a tribute to ''Ghosts'n Goblins''. Gameplay The original version of the game features six levels, 40 enemy types, and 4 bosses. Defeating the boss enables the player to advance to the next level. Each of the game's levels corresponds to an era of history, and each has four different endings that vary depending on the tasks performed by the player. The extended edition of Cursed Castilla features brand new content, including a total of 8 game stages, 48+ enemy types, and 19 final bosses. Yamaha YM2203
The YM2203, a.k.a. OPN (FM Operator Type-N), is a six-channel (3 FM and 3 SSG) sound chip developed by Yamaha. It was the progenitor of Yamaha's OPN family of FM synthesis chips used in many video game and computer systems throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. It was used in a variety of NEC computers, along with various arcade game machines. The YM2203 and the rest of the OPN synthesizer family generate sound via frequency-modulated digital sine waves. It included 12 operator "cells", each generating a 13-bit sine wave at a programmable frequency, the volume of which is controlled by a programmable ADSR envelope generator. Story ''Pharaoh Rebirth'' is a metroidvania game starring a bunny named Dr. Jonathan Banfield, set in Egypt. Development Krobon says he was inspired by '' Castlevania: Symphony of the Night'', and wished to make a game that appealed to him.
