Malden Rushett
Malden Rushett is a small village in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, London. It is located at the southernmost tip of the Royal Borough, surrounded by woodland and farmland, and between the larger suburban villages and towns of Claygate, Chessington, Epsom, Ashtead, Leatherhead and Oxshott. History Rushett was a detached part of the parish of Malden, located approximately 5 miles southwest of the main parish. On 24 March 1884 it was transferred to the parish of Chessington. Facilities Malden Rushett sits on the crossroads of the A243 road from Kingston upon Thames to Leatherhead and the B280 from Oxshott to Epsom. It consists of a few houses, two pubs and a petrol station incorporating an M&S Simply Food shop. It is two miles from Junction 9 on the M25 motorway. Kingston And Surbiton (UK Parliament Constituency)
Kingston and Surbiton () is a constituency created in 1997 represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Ed Davey, the Leader of the Liberal Democrats. Kingston and Surbiton has been considered a marginal seat, as well as a swing seat since 2010, as the seat has changed hands twice since that year, and its winner's majority did not exceed 6.6% of the vote since the 13.2% majority won in 2010. In 2019, Davey won a 17.2% majority and a majority of the votes cast and the seat is now a safe seat for the party. Motspur Park Railway Station
Motspur Park railway station is a suburban station in the London Borough of Merton in south London. The station is served by South Western Railway, and is in Travelcard Zone 4. It is down the line from . Southbound destinations are Chessington South, Dorking and Guildford. The station stands atop a railway embankment off a service road behind the parade of shops on West Barnes Lane. The shops and surrounding streets on both sides of the line are known as Motspur Park. There is also footpath access from Claremont Avenue on the western side. The station is a single island platform reached by footbridge from either side of the track. The station retains its original Southern Railway buildings in the centre of the platform. Putney Heath
Wimbledon Common is a large open space in Wimbledon, southwest London. There are three named areas: Wimbledon Common, Putney Heath, and Putney Lower Common, which together are managed under the name Wimbledon and Putney Commons totalling 460 hectares (1,140 acres). Putney Lower Common is set apart from the rest of the Common by a minimum of of the built-up western end of Putney. Wimbledon and Putney Commons Wimbledon Common, together with Putney Heath and Putney Lower Common, is protected by the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Act of 1871 from being enclosed or built upon. Andrew Mackinlay
Andrew Stuart MacKinlay (born 24 April 1949) is a British Liberal Democrat politician, who was the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for Thurrock from 1992 until he stepped down at the 2010 general election. In parliament MacKinlay built a reputation as a hard-working constituency MP, gaining respect from all sides and as a stalwart of Gibraltar. In 2021 he was elected as a Liberal Democrat councillor for Kingston upon Thames London Borough Council, although he stood down a short time later, at the 2022 election. Chessington North railway station, in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in South West London, is on the Chessington branch line and is served by South Western Railway. Esher ( ) is a town in Surrey, England, to the east of the River Mole. Esher is an outlying suburb of London near the London-Surrey Border, and with Esher Commons at its southern end, the town marks one limit of the Greater London Built-Up Area. Esher has a linear commercial high street and is otherwise suburban in density, with varying elevations, few high rise buildings and very short sections of dual carriageway within the ward itself. London Buses route 65 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Ealing Broadway station and Kingston, it is operated by London United. History Route 65 originally ran from Ealing ''Argyle Road'' (now Scotch Common) to Leatherhead via Ealing Broadway, South Ealing, Brentford, Richmond, Petersham, Ham, Kingston, Tolworth, Hook and Chessington. London Buses route 465 is a joint Transport for London and Surrey County Council contracted bus route in London and Surrey, England. Running between Kingston and Dorking, it is operated by London United. The route extends the furthest from London of all Transport for London routes. History From around the mid-1990s, service 465 was operated by London & Country. Upon being re-tendered, it passed to Tellings-Golden Miller on 1 May 1999 and was extended past Kingston to Tellings' Fulwell Bus Garage. On 17 June 2005, route 465 was included in the sale of Tellings-Golden Miller to Travel London. In May 2006 the route was curtailed at Kingston and replaced by a new, less frequent route 481, despite a protest by a local group to keep the service.
