Malaysia Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Malaysian national ice hockey team ( ms, Pasukan hoki ais kebangsaan Malaysia) is the national men's ice hockey team of Malaysia. The team is controlled by the Malaysia Ice Hockey Federation and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 28 September 2006. Ice hockey was part of the 2017 SEA Games held in Kuala Lumpur. The IIHF announced that Malaysia will make its World Championship debut in 2020. Malaysian Invitational 3-on-3 Hockey Tournament In the 2009 edition of this tournament, the Malaysian team defeating Hong Kong in a thrilling game by a score of 8–7 in front of a huge crowd at Sunway Pyramid. In 2010, the Malaysian team was undefeated on their way to the final against Kuwait. In the final, thanks to some great goaltending, Malaysia hung on to a 5–4 victory and their second MIHF tournament victory in as many years. Ice Hockey At The 2017 Asian Winter Games
Ice hockey at the 2017 Asian Winter Games was held in Sapporo, Japan between 18–26 February at three venues (Tsukisamu Gymnasium, Mikaho Gymnasium and the Hoshioki Skating Rink). A total of 18 men's teams competed in three divisions (four in Top Division, six in Division I and eight in Division II), along with six women's teams. Originally 20 men's teams were scheduled to compete, however Bahrain withdrew. Iran was also scheduled to compete, however after arriving, more than half the team was deemed ineligible to represent the country due to eligibility issues. Thus the team was disqualified. However the country still played its matches as friendlies, but they did not count towards the standings. Ice hockey at the 2011 Asian Winter Games was held in Astana (males) and Almaty (females) in Kazakhstan from 28 January to 6 February. For these games, the men were competing in a 14-team tournament, and the women in a 5-team tournament. Ice hockey preliminaries actually started two days before the Opening Ceremony of the Games on 30 January. For the first time ever, there were two divisions in the male competition so as to avoid one sided games seen at the last edition of the games. India and Qatar withdrew and 12 nations competed in the Men's tournament. All games was played at the Kazakhstan Sports Palace (Arena 1 and 2) in Astana. The 2023 IIHF World Championship Division III were two international ice hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Group A tournament was held in Cape Town, South Africa from 17 to 23 April and the Group B tournament in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 27 February to 5 March 2023. Chinese Taipei were promoted after winning Group A, with North Korea relegated after withdrawing before the tournament. 2022 IIHF World Championship Division IV
The 2022 IIHF World Championship Division IV was an international ice hockey tournament organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 3 to 8 March 2022. This was the first edition of the Division IV tournament, which had been cancelled the previous two years. Kyrgyzstan won the tournament, earning promotion to Division III Group B for 2023. Iran, Singapore and Malaysia were also promoted with Kuwait continuing to participate in Division IV. The Kuwait national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب الكويت لهوكي الجليد) is the national men's ice hockey team of Kuwait.
