Malaiyoor Mambattiyan
''Malaiyoor Mambattiyan'' () is 1983 Indian Tamil-language vigilante film directed by Rajasekhar, starring Thiagarajan, Saritha and Silk Smita. The film became a blockbuster and established Thigarajan as a star. The film was remade in Hindi by Rajasekhar himself as ''Gangvaa'' (1984). In 2011, Thiagarajan remade this film with his son Prashanth, titled as ''Mambattiyan''. Plot There is a group of youngsters in the village headed by Mambattiyan, who lead life in a forest by robbing the rich and distributing the wealth to the poor thus Mambattiyana becomes the local Robin Hood. Rajasekhar (director)
Rajasekhar (died 1991), often credited as Rajasekhar Bachelor of Science, B.Sc., was an Indian film director and producer of Tamil cinema, Kollywood during the 1980s. He also directed films in Telugu language, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Career Rajasekhar was born in Nattarasankottai in then Ramanathapuram district and was a Bachelor of Science graduate. He made his debut as director with the 1980 Kannada movie ''Hunnimeya Rathriyalli''.He was a director of 1980s and his major works were with Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan. Gangai Amaran is an Indian music composer, singer, lyricist, writer, film director and actor in Tamil films. Personal life Gangai Amaran was born in Pannaipuram in Theni district, Tamil Nadu in December 1947, as the youngest son of Daniel Ramaswamy and Chinnathayi. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood.
