Makedonikos B.C. (Greek: Μακεδονικός K.A.E.) is a Greek professional basketball club. The club is located in Neapoli, Thessaloniki, Greece. The parent athletic club was founded in 1928, and the basketball department was founded in 1948. Makedonikos means " Macedonian" in Greek. History Makedonikos won the Greek A2 League, which is the second-tier league in Greece, in the years 2000 and 2002. During the 2001–02 season, the team set the then A2 season record for most wins, with 24. Makedonikos was the runner-up of the EuroCup's 2004–05 season. Since its foundation in 1948, Makedonikos' home city was Thessaloniki, Greece. Otherwise, when the team was bought by Dimitris Mesaikos, the franchise was moved to Kozani, Greece, in the mid 2000s, to play in a newer, larger arena that had just opened there. Greek B Basket League
The Greek B Basket League, or Greek B Basketball League ( Greek: Ελληνική Β Μπασκετ Λιγκ), is a national basketball league in Greece. It is also known as the Second National Championship, B National Championship, Second National League, B National League, Third Division, and in Greek, (Βήτα Εθνική καλαθοσφαίρισης) (Beta Ethniki Basketball). It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the 3rd-tier level of the basketball league system in Greece, and was founded in its current form in 1986. Georgios Balogiannis
Georgios Balogiannis (alternate spelling: Giorgos, Ballogianis, Mpalogiannis) ( el, Γιώργος Μπαλογιάννης; born January 17, 1971, in Thessaloniki, Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player. Professional career Balogiannis played for VAO from 1988 to 1992. In 1993, he moved to PAOK. Balogiannis won the Korać Cup in 1994, and 2 Greek Cups. In 2000, Balogiannis moved to Panathinaikos, and with them he won 2 Greek League championships (2001, 2003) and 1 Greek Cup (2003). He also played in the FIBA SuproLeague Final in 2001. In the 2003–04 season, Balogiannis played with Makedonikos, and the next year he returned to PAOK, to play one more year. Dimitris Papanikolaou
Dimitrios Papanikolaou (alternate spelling: Dimitris) ( el, Δημήτρης Παπανικολάου; born February 7, 1977 in Nea Liosia, Athens, Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and a professional basketball coach. He is 2.02 m (6 ft 7 in) tall. He spent most of his career playing at the shooting guard and small forward positions, although he also played at the power forward position late in his career. Playing career Clubs Papanikolaou began his professional career in 1992 with the Greek club Sporting Athens when he was transferred from the amateur club Asteras Neon Liosion. He then transferred to Olympiacos Piraeus in the year 1995. Emmanouil "Manolis" "Manos" Papamakarios (Greek: Εμμανουήλ "Μανόλης" "Μάνος" Παπαμακάριος; born August 26, 1980) is a retired Greek professional basketball player. He is 1.92 m (6 ft 3 in) tall and he mainly played as a shooting guard, but he could also play at the point guard, point forward, and small forward positions. Professional playing career Born in Athens, Greece, Papamakarios began his professional basketball career with the Greek League club Peristeri in 1998. Panagiotis Liadelis (born December 7, 1974 in Volos, Greece) is a retired Greek professional basketball player. At a height of 1.94 m (6 ft 4 in) tall, he played as a point guard-shooting guard. Professional career Liadelis played for many successful teams. His first well-known club was the Greek club Aris Thessaloniki, where he played for many years and won the Korać Cup, in the 1996–97 season, and the Greek Cup and Greek Cup MVP in 1998. Nestoras Kommatos (Greek: Νέστορας Κόμματος; born May 4, 1977) is a Greek former professional basketball player and, as of recently, the team manager for Larisa (formerly known as Ermis Agias) of the Greek Basket League. During his pro club career, at a height of 6'8" (2.03 m) tall, he played at the small forward, power forward and center positions. Mathaios "Manthos" Katsoulis ( el, Μάνθος Κατσούλης; born 20 July 1956) is a Greek former professional basketball player. College career Katsoulis played college basketball at McGill University, with the McGill Redmen (1982–1983). Professional career Katsoulis began his club career with AO Dramas. Sotirios "Soto" Karapostolou (alternate spelling: Sotiris) (Greek: Σωτηρης "Σωτω" Καραποστολου; born July 15, 1978) is a Greek former professional basketball player and current basketball assistant coach.
