Mais Barkhudarov
Mais Barkhudarov ( az, Mais Bərxudarov) is an Azerbaijani officer, lieutenant general of Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, who was a participant of 2016 Nagorno-Karabakh clashes and 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. He is the current commander of the 2nd Army Corps of Azerbaijan. Biography Mais Barkhudarov was born in Qubadli, Azerbaijan SSR. Since childhood he was fond of wrestling. He was taught by wrestler Aliyar Aliyev, who later participated in the first Karabakh war and became a National Hero of Azerbaijan (posthumously). Qubadli
Qubadli ( az, Qubadlı, ) is a city in Azerbaijan and the administrative centre of the Qubadli District. It is situated along the Vorotan (Bargushad) river. History Qubadli was part of the Zangezur uezd of the Elizavetpol Governorate during the Russian Empire. According to 1886 census data, there were 70 homes and 326 Azerbaijanis (classified as "Tatars" in the census) of the Shiite branch of Islam in Qubadli. According to the 1912 publication of the ''Caucasian Calendar'', the village of Qubadli was home to 672 people, the majority of whom were Azerbaijanis (classified as "Tatars" in the census). During the Soviet era, Qubadli was first a part of Azerbaijan SSR's Zangilan District, then the administrative centre of the Qubadli District, and from 1923 to 1930, it was also briefly a part of its Kurdistansky Uyezd. Karabakh Order ( az, "Qarabağ" ordeni) is an order of Azerbaijan. The order was created on the occasion of Azerbaijan being the victor in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. History On 11 November 2020, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with wounded Azerbaijani servicemen who took part in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, said that new orders and medals would be established in Azerbaijan, and that he gave appropriate instructions on awarding civilians and servicemen who showed "heroism on the battlefield and in the rear and distinguished themselves in this war." Jabrayil District
Jabrayil District ( az, Cəbrayıl rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-west of the country and belongs to the East Zangezur Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Khojavend, Fuzuli, Qubadli, Zangilan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Its capital is Jabrayil, however since the city is completely ruined following its occupation by ethnic Armenian forces, the current ''de facto'' capital is Jojug Marjanly until Jabrayil is rebuilt. Jabrayil ( az, Cəbrayıl, ) is a ghost city in Azerbaijan, nominally the administrative capital of Azerbaijan's Jabrayil District. Hikmat Mirzayev
Hikmat Izzat oglu Mirzayev () is an Azerbaijani military officer. He is a lieutenant general of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and the commander of the Special Forces, and participated in the 2016 Nagorno–Karabakh clashes and the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, during which he led Azerbaijani forces in the 2020 battle of Shusha. Lalatapa
Lalatapa ( az, Lələ Təpə, ) is a high hill in the Jabrayil Rayon of Azerbaijan, north-west of Çocuq Mərcanlı. Having a strategic military importance, the hill was one of the battle sites during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War on February 11–12, 1994, following which it was seized by Armenian troops.
