Maine Celtics
The Maine Celtics (formerly the Maine Red Claws) are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Portland, Maine, and are affiliated with the Boston Celtics. The Maine Celtics play their home games at the Portland Expo Building. The team debuted in the 2009–10 season as the Maine Red Claws and have since won three division titles. The Boston Celtics purchased the franchise in July 2019 from Maine Basketball, LLC, a company chaired by William Ryan, Jr. The Boston Celtics renamed the team the Maine Celtics in 2021. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. At the conclusion of the 2013–14 NBA season, 33% of NBA players had spent time in the NBA D-League, up from 23% in 2011. Rio Grande Valley Vipers
The Rio Grande Valley Vipers are an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League based in Edinburg, Texas, and are affiliated with the Houston Rockets. The Vipers play their home games at the Bert Ogden Arena. The Vipers have won four league titles in 2010, 2013, 2019, and 2022, the most for any club in league history, and they also have made the most championship series in league history, having made it six times to the finals. They are also the earliest champion to still play in their original city along with one of only two teams (the other being the Fort Wayne Mad Ants) to have played in every league season since 2007. 2019–20 NBA G League Season
The 2019–20 NBA G League season was the 19th season of the NBA G League, the official minor league basketball organization owned by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The season was suspended indefinitely on March 12, 2020, following the NBA's suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The remainder of the season was cancelled on June 4. League changes The Atlanta Hawks' G League franchise that had been playing as the Erie BayHawks since 2017 relocated as planned to College Park, Georgia, following the completion of the Gateway Center Arena and were renamed the College Park Skyhawks. The New Orleans Pelicans then launched its own expansion team for the 2019–20 season that will operate another iteration of the Erie BayHawks, but plan to relocate their G League franchise to Birmingham, Alabama, at a renovated Legacy Arena by 2022. Delaware Blue Coats
The Delaware Blue Coats are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Wilmington, Delaware, and are affiliated with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Blue Coats play their home games at Chase Fieldhouse. The team was founded in 2007 as the Utah Flash and served as an affiliate to the Utah Jazz. In April 2013, the 76ers acquired the team and relocated it to Delaware, where it played as the Delaware 87ers (nicknamed the Sevens) until 2018. Bryce Brown (basketball)
Bryce Wade Brown (born July 24, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for JL Bourg of the LNB Pro A and the EuroCup. He played college basketball for the Auburn Tigers and was the leading scorer for the Tigers first ever Final Four team. High school career Brown began his high school career at Columbia High School, where he averaged 18 points and 5 assists per game as a junior. He was playing a video game when his father, Cedric Brown suffered a heart attack, requiring emergency stent surgery. Bradley Kent Stevens (born October 22, 1976) is an American basketball executive and former coach who is currently the president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics. Born and raised in Zionsville, Indiana, Stevens starred on the Zionsville Community High School basketball team, setting four school records. After high school, he attended DePauw University, where he played basketball and earned a degree in economics. Stevens made the all-conference team multiple times and was a three-time Academic All-America nominee. The Lakehead Thunderwolves are the U Sports varsity athletic teams that represent Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
