The Main Military Medical Directorate, (russian: link=no, Главное военно-медицинское управление Министерства обороны Российской Федерации). also known as Military Medical Directorate, a successor of Soviet Military Medical Directorate, is the specialist medical corps in the Russian Ministry of defense, it was part of the Soviet Armed Forces. Now it is part of the Russian Armed Forces which provides medical services to all Army personnel and their families, in war and in peace. Russia has a number of military academies of different specialties. The Army Medical Department of the U.S. Army (AMEDD), formerly known as the Army Medical Service (AMS), encompasses the Army's six medical Special Branches (or "Corps"). Кирова) is a higher education institution of military medicine in Saint Petersburg and the Russian Federation.
