Mahinder Yadav (born 5 May 1963), also spelled as Mahendra Yadav, is an Indian politician from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He is currently a member of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi (MLA). He has represented Vikaspuri assembly constituency as MLA since December 2014. Personal life Mahender Yadav was born on 5 May 1963 in New Delhi. His father's name is Mewa Ram Yadav. Mahinder Yadav has passed 10th standard (matriculate) from the CBSE board in 1980. He is a social worker. He is a businessman and a retail trader and supplier of building materials. Mahinder Yadav is married to Raj Yadav and has three daughters. His wife Raj is self-employed. He is a resident of Hastsal Village in Uttam Nagar area of New Delhi. The Delhi Legislative Assembly election was held on 7 February 2015 to elect 70 members of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi. The results were announced on 10 February 2015. The Aam Aadmi Party secured an absolute majority in the assembly, winning 67 of the 70 seats. Background In the 2013 Delhi state elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (along with its pre-poll ally Shiromani Akali Dal) emerged as the single-largest party, winning 32 out of the 70 seats. However, they fell short of an outright majority and therefore were unable to form the government. The Aam Aadmi Party (; AAP) is a political party in India, as one of the national political parties. The AAP was founded in November 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal and his then-companions following the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, popularly known as Anna Andolan.
