Maersk Dubai Incident
The Maersk Dubai incident involved four stowaways aboard the Taiwanese container ship ''Ming Fortune'', which at the time was on long-term charter to the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, sailing as the ''MV Maersk Dubai''. On two consecutive voyages, in March and May 1996, three of the stowaways were murdered when they were thrown overboard by the ship's captain and his officers. A fourth was spared the same fate when he was kept hidden by four other crew members until they reached their next destination of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Events On March 11, 1996, while the Dubai was docked in Algeciras, Spain, two Romanians, Petre Sangeorzan and Radu Danciu, stowed away on board the ship. Stowaway
A stowaway or clandestine traveller is a person who secretly boards a vehicle, such as a ship, an aircraft, a train, cargo truck or bus. Sometimes, the purpose is to get from one place to another without paying for transportation. In other cases, the goal is to enter another country without first obtaining a travel visa or other permission. Stowaways differ from people smuggling in that the stowaway needs to avoid detection by the truck driver, ship crew, and others responsible for the safe and secure operation of the transportation service. Thousands of stowaways have travelled by sea or land over the last several centuries. A much smaller number of people have attempted to stowaway on aircraft. Edward Greenspan
Edward Leonard Greenspan, (February 28, 1944December 24, 2014) was one of Canada's most famous defence lawyers, and a prolific author of legal volumes. His fame was owed to numerous high-profile clients and to his national exposure on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio series (and later a CBC television series) ''The Scales of Justice'' (1982–94). Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation () is a Taiwanese container shipping company based in Keelung, Taiwan (ROC). Savatage () was an American heavy metal band founded by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in 1979 in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
