Madvillain
Madvillain was an American hip hop duo consisting of two MCs and producers, MF Doom and Madlib. Their only album, ''Madvillainy'', earned critical acclaim and cult popularity, widely regarded as one of the greatest rap albums of all time and a benchmark record for alternative hip hop. Their intricate rhymes and lyrics, short song structures and use of obscure, stylistically diverse samples made for a sound that was generally unfriendly to commercial radio but was lauded for its influence on underground rap. A follow-up album to ''Madvillainy'' was rumored to be in production at various times since the late 2000s, but no further original material has surfaced from the duo since 2010, and MF Doom's death in 2020 has left the future of the project uncertain. History In 2006, Madvillain was featured on Stones Throw Records and Adult Swim's DVD/CD ''Chrome Children'' with a new song and live performance. Kidrobot followed this by announcing a Madvillain action figure. Madvill ...

Madvillainy
''Madvillainy'' is the only studio album by American hip hop duo Madvillain, consisting of rapper MF Doom and producer Madlib. It was released on March 23, 2004, on Stones Throw Records. The album was recorded between 2002 and 2004. Madlib created most of the instrumentals during a trip to Brazil in his hotel room using minimal amounts of equipment: a Boss SP-303 sampler, a turntable, and a tape deck. Fourteen months before the album was released, an unfinished demo version was stolen and leaked onto the internet. Frustrated, the duo stopped working on the album and returned to it only after they had released other solo projects. While ''Madvillainy'' achieved only moderate commercial success, it became one of the best-selling Stones Throw albums. It peaked at number 179 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, and attracted attention from media outlets not usually covering hip hop music, including ''The New Yorker''. ''Madvillainy'' received widespread critical acclaim for Madlib's prod ...

One Beer (Madvillain Song)
"One Beer" is a song recorded by American hip hop duo Madvillain, originally intended for inclusion on their debut studio album ''Madvillainy''. The song instead ended up being used on MF Doom's 2004 album '' Mm..Food'', credited to MF Doom instead of Madvillain. "One Beer" was released as a limited-press 7" single in 2004, given away by select online retailers with copies of ''Madvillainy''. An animated music video was released on 16 November 2018, 14 years after ''Mm..Food'''s release. Background "One Beer" was originally recorded for ''Madvillainy'', but Doom and Madlib felt it didn't fit the record and decided to leave it off. 1000 copies were pressed to 7" vinyl and given away by select online retailers with copies of ''Madvillainy'' a week after the album's release. The song samples French jazz-funk band Cortex's 1975 song "Huit Octobre 1971". Music video On 16 November 2018, the 14th anniversary of ''Mm..Food'''s release, Rhymesayers Entertainment released an animated musi ...

All Caps (song)
"All Caps" is a single by the hip-hop duo Madvillain released in February 2004 ahead of their debut studio album ''Madvillainy''. Though "All Caps" is the A-side, the official title of the single is "Curls & All Caps". Background "All Caps" is a reference to MF DOOM's preference that his stage name be written in all capital letters. An early version of this song appeared on the '' Madvillainy Demo Tape'' which originally leaked to the internet in early 2003. Around 200 copies of a promotional 12" single were pressed and released to radio stations and DJs including the bonus track "Bonus Beat (Radio Promo Version)". Approximately 40 to 50 of these were hand-painted by ''Madvillainy'' cover designer Jeff Jank. Music video The video for "All Caps", directed and animated by James Reitano for TFU Studios, is in the form of an animated Silver Age comic book. It begins with two scientists in a lab experimenting with chemicals. Their work goes awry when a mixture fills the lab with gas, ...
