Madrid Arena
Madrid Arena is an indoor arena located in the city of Madrid, in the fairgrounds in the Casa de Campo, just minutes from the city centre. Built from the old Rocódromo, the pavilion was designed by Spanish architects Estudio Cano Lasso who designed this versatile building in 2001 to host sporting events, commercial, cultural and leisure activities. The pavilion was sponsored by the company Telefónica for what was also known as ''Telefónica Arena''. Construction The arena was built in 2002 as part of the facilities planned for the Madrid 2012 Olympic bid. It was expected to house basketball competitions. The first phase was about in 2002, expanded the following year. It is distributed on three floors (access, intermediate and low). Its central court has three retractable bleachers, allowing the surface to change depending on the type of event. Line 10 (Madrid Metro)
Line 10 of the Madrid Metro is a rapid transit line in Madrid that is actually the product of two formerly separate lines. Today the route begins at (San Sebastián de los Reyes) and ends at (Alcorcón). Passengers must transfer at between the "line 10A" segment, which covers the portion of the route south of the station, and "line 10B," which extends north to Hospital Infanta Sofía. Line 10 provides access to the Cuatro Torres Business Area at station, the AZCA at , as well as the Chamartín Railway station, Plaza de Castilla, Plaza de España, Principe Pío and Casa de Campo. Line 6 (Madrid Metro)
Line 6 of the Madrid Metro opened originally between Cuatro Caminos and Pacifico in 1979. This is one of two circular lines in Madrid, but unlike Line 12, it did not open as a full circle. The circle was completed in 1995, taking four stages from its original opening. It has a length of 23.5km. History First on 7 May 1981, the line was extended from Pacifico to Oporto, then on 1 June 1983, the line was extended from Oporto to Laguna. Thirdly the line was extended from Cuatro Caminos to Ciudad Universitaria serving Madrid's Complutense university on 13 January 1987, and lastly the line was extended from Ciudad Universitaria to Laguna on 10 May 1995, completing the circle. The system is the 14th longest rapid transit system in the world, with a total length of 293 km (182 mi). 2013 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2013 World Men's Handball Championship was the 23rd World Men's Handball Championship, an international handball tournament that took place in Spain from 11 to 27 January 2013. This was the first time Spain hosted the World Men's Handball Championship, becoming the twelfth country to host the competition. Spain won the title, beating Denmark in the final 35–19. It was Denmark's second final in a row. Venues Games in Madrid were scheduled to be played in the Madrid Arena but on 1 November 2012, five young people were killed in a human stampede during a Halloween party. La Caja Mágica ''( es, The Magic Box)'' (also known as the Manzanares Park Tennis Center) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Madrid, Spain. Since 2009, it has been the home of the Madrid Open tennis event, and as of 2019, the home of the Davis Cup. There are three courts under the one structure, and a series of retractable roofs. The seating capacity of Courts 1 and 2 would have been increased if Madrid's bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics had been successful.
