Constance Jenkins Macky (née Constance Lillian Jenkins; 1883–1961) was an Australian-born American artist and teacher. She was known for her portraits, landscape paintings, and still life paintings. Biography Constance Lillian Jenkins was born June 29, 1883, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Her parents were Emma Wright and John S. Jenkins, her father was of Scottish descent. She was the youngest of six children, and began to study art seriously at age 15. Macky attended the National Gallery of Victoria Art School (formally National Gallery School of Painting), from 1900 to 1908 and then studied at the Académie Julian in Paris during 1909. In 1912, Jenkins married Eric Spencer Macky in Berkeley, California. They had two sons, including Donald Spencer Macky (1913–2007) who was also an artist. Eric Spencer Macky, also known simply as Spencer Macky (1880–1958) was a New Zealand-born American painter, intaglio printmaker, and educator. He was known for his landscape paintings and scenes of San Francisco. Biography Eric Spencer Macky was born November 16, 1880, in Ponsonby near Auckland, New Zealand. He was interested in art at a young age and by age 14, he was attending the Elam Art School on a scholarship and studied under C. F. Goldie. From 1903 to 1906, Macky attended National Gallery of Victoria Art School (formally National Gallery School of Painting) studying under Lindsay Bernard Hall; and continued studies in 1907 at Académie Julian in Paris under Jean-Paul Laurens. Frank Macky (19 December 1891 – 29 December 1975) was an Australian rules footballer who played with the Melbourne University Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Joseph Cochrane Macky (1855–1915), and Mary Macky (1858–1915), née Birrell, Frank Macky was born at Auckland, New Zealand on 19 December 1891. Both his parents were drowned on 7 May 1915 when the British ocean liner RMS ''Lusitania'' was sunk by the German U-Boat SM ''U-20''. Although offered a seat on a lifeboat, Mary Macky gave her seat to a younger woman, choosing to remain with her husband. John Macky
John Macky (died 1726) was a Scottish spy. He was the first person to inform the British authorities of James II's intended invasion of England in 1692 after the former king had fled from France to England. In October 1693 he was made inspector of the coast from Harwich to Dover, tasked with intercepting hostile intelligence. Macky published an attack on James II's exiled court in ''A View of the Court of St Germains from the Year 1690 to 1695'' in 1696. His network of spies was crucial to the discovery in February and March 1708 of the Jacobite plans to invade Scotland. He later came under the suspicion of the authorities and was imprisoned, but was released in 1714 following the accession of George I. Neil Lloyd Macky
Colonel Neil Lloyd Macky MC (20 February 1891 – 4 October 1981) was a New Zealand lawyer and military leader. Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Macky earned a law degree from Auckland University College and set himself up as a sole practitioner. He joined the New Zealand Expeditionary Force (NZEF) in 1915 and was commissioned as an officer in the New Zealand Rifle Brigade. He served during the Senussi Campaign in the Middle East and on the Western Front. His leadership during the Battle of Flers–Courcelette earned him the Military Cross. After the war he returned to his legal career. He was also a senior officer in the Territorial Force (TF) in which he commanded an infantry brigade. In 1937, Macky was one of four TF colonels that publicly protested reforms that reduced personnel and affected morale in the TF. He was punished by being placed on the retired list. Shotaro Makisumi ( ja, Makisumi Shōtarō; commonly known as "Macky", born March 21, 1990, in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan) is best known for setting several world records for speedcubing, or quickly solving the Rubik's Cube. Macky lived in Arcadia, California, and graduated in the class of 2008 from Polytechnic School in Pasadena, California. In 2012, he graduated from Princeton University, where he majored in mathematics.
