Macedonia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2005
Macedonia (officially under the provisional appellation "former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", abbreviated "FYR Macedonia") participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Make My Day" written by Dragan Vučić and Branka Kostić. The song was performed by Martin Vučić. The Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) organised the national final ''Nacionalen Evrosong 2005'' in order to select the Macedonian entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Five artists were presented to the public in November 2004 and an eight-member jury panel and a public televote selected two artists to qualify to the compete in the competition on 19 February 2005, where "Ti si son" performed by Martin Vučić was selected following two rounds of voting from a twelve-member jury panel, an audience vote and a public televote. Martin Vučić ( mk, Мартин Вучиќ, sr-Cyrl, Мартин Вучић) is a Macedonian pop musician. Biography He finished elementary school in Skopje and expressed his interests in music at an early age. He started playing drums at the age of 3 and at the age of 7, he participated at numerous music festivals for children. He represented Macedonia at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, finishing 17th with the song "Make My Day". He won second place at Ohrid Fest with the song "Rano mi e da se vrzam". Tijana Dapčević (; mk, Тијана Дапчевиќ, , sr-cyr, Тијана Дапчевић, , ; born 3 February 1976) is a Macedonian-Serbian pop singer. Early life Tijana Todevska was born in Skopje, at the time part of SFR Yugoslavia, to a Macedonian father Velko Todevski, a music teacher, and Bosnian Serb mother Brana, an opera singer. Her parents studied in Sarajevo, where they met. She has a younger sister Tamara, and is married to Milan Dapčević, a Serbian businessman. Karolina Gočeva ( mk, Каролина Гочева, ; born 28 April 1980), sometimes credited as Karolina Gocheva or known only as Karolina, is a Macedonian pop singer. Gočeva launched her music career in 1991 with a performance at a local children's show and continued participating in the following years, receiving recognition for her talent. Ukraine participated the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Razom nas bahato" written by Roman Kalyn, Roman Kostyuk and Mikola Kulinich. The song was performed by the duo GreenJolly. Sweden was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by Martin Stenmarck with the song "Las Vegas". Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 2005 The entrant was chosen through the Swedish national final Melodifestivalen. Four heats and one "second chance" round were broadcast to decide the line-up for the national final in Sweden. As in recent years the qualifying heats were held across Sweden. The Melodifestival started out in Göteborg and travelled through Linköping, Skellefteå, and Växjö before the final. Andorra participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "La mirada interior" written by Rafael Artesero, Daniel Aragay and Rafa Fernández. The song was performed by Marian van de Wal. Vlado Bučkovski ( mk, Владо Бучковски; born 2 December 1962) is a former prime minister of the Republic of Macedonia, elected by parliament on 17 December 2004. He was previously the defense minister of Macedonia from May 2001 to November 2001 and from November 2002 to December 2004. He was president of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia. After the 2006 election defeat by the centre-right VMRO-DPMNE, Radmila Šekerinska took over the party's leadership.
