Maarja Jakobson (born 8 December 1977) is an Estonian television, stage and film actress whose career began in the late 1990s. Eraly life and education Maarja Jakobson was born in Tartu in 1977. She is distantly related to 19th-century writer and politician Carl Robert Jakobson, who played a pivotal role in the Estonian national awakening. She graduated from the 15th Secondary School of Tartu (now, the Tartu Descartes Lyceum) in 1995 and enrolled at the University of Tartu to study German for a year before enrolling in the performing arts department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn in 1996 to study acting under the direction of theatre pedagogue and stage director Ingo Normet, graduating in 2000. Maarja Nuut
Maarja Nuut (born 1986) is an Estonian singer and violinist. After first studying classical music, she turned to folk, adopting the village style of traditional Estonian songs. She debuted as a solo artist in 2013, winning the Artists Prize at the Tallinn Music Week. In 2016, she began to collaborate with Hendrik Kaljujärv (aka Ruum), who creates his own abstract electronic sounds. Maarja Kruusmaa (maiden name Maarja Sink; born 4 January 1970) is an Estonian computer scientist, professor at Tallinn University of Technology, vice-rector for research and head of the biorobotics center at that university. Her main research area is bio-inspired underwater robotics to imitate the movements of fish and turtles. Maarja Kangro (born 20 December 1973 in Tallinn) is an Estonian poet, short story writer, novelist, essayist, nonfiction writer and librettist. Life She is the daughter of composer Raimo Kangro and author Leelo Tungal. Marya Roxx (born Maarja Kivi on 18 January 1986) is an Estonian hard rock/metal singer-songwriter residing in Los Angeles. She is a former member of the Estonian girl band Vanilla Ninja. Background When the girl band Vanilla Ninja was founded in 2003, Kivi was selected as one of the solo singers and the bass player. She recorded two albums with the band, ''Vanilla Ninja'' and ''Traces Of Sadness''. She left the group in mid-2004.
