M Series (computer)
M-20, M-220 and M222 were a range of general-purpose computers designed and manufactured in the USSR. These computers were developed by the Scientific Research Institute of Electronic Machines ( NIIEM) and built at Moscow Plant of Calculating and Analyzing Machines (SAM) and the Kazan Plant of Computing Machines (under the Ministry of Radio Industry of the USSR). Rover M-series Engine
The Rover M series (or M16) is a line of 4-cylinder, DOHC internal-combustion engine introduced by the Austin Rover Group in 1986 for the then-new Rover 800 series. The M series was produced only in one cubic capacity – 1994 cc (2.0 L), and was a 16 valve development of the older British Leyland O-series unit first seen in 1978. For the Rover 800, there were two different versions, with single point fuel injection (for the Rover 820e) or multi-point injection (for the 820i). The M series uses the same cylinder block as the O-series unit as found in the Maestro and Montego, which mates with the Powertrain Ltd PG-1 manual gearbox. '' QI'' (short for ''Quite Interesting'') is a BBC comedy panel game television show that began in 2003. It was created by John Lloyd, and was hosted by Stephen Fry until the end of Series 13 after which Sandi Toksvig took over, and features permanent panellist Alan Davies. Each series covers topics that begin with a different letter of the alphabet; for example, the first series covered topics whose word began with "A". Thus it is referred to as "Series A" instead of "Series One". ''QI'' was given a full series after BBC executives responded well to a nonbroadcast pilot and the first episode, "Adam" premiered on BBC Two on 11 September 2003. Leica M Series
The Leica M mount is a camera lens mount introduced in 1954 with the Leica M3, and a range of lenses. It has been used on all the Leica M-series cameras and certain accessories (e.g. Visoflex reflex viewing attachment) up to the current film Leica M-A and digital Leica M11 cameras. This lens mount has also been used by Epson, Ricoh, Minolta, Konica, Cosina Voigtländer, Rollei, Carl Zeiss AG and Rollei Fototechnic on some of their cameras. Overview The Leica M mount was introduced in 1954 at that year's Photokina show, with the Leica M3 as its first camera. The 'M' stands for ''Messsucher'' or rangefinder in German. M-series Bayonet
The Model of 1905 bayonet was made for the U.S. M1903 Springfield rifle.Note: Variants of the M1903 rifle were produced during World War I and World War II by Springfield Armory, Remington Arms, Rock Island Arsenal, and Smith-Corona Typewriter. This designation was changed to Model 1905 in 1917, and then to M1905 in 1925, when the army adopted the ''M'' designation nomenclature. The M1905 bayonet has a 16-inch (40.6 cm) steel blade and a 4-inch (10.16 cm) handle with wooden or plastic grips. The bayonet also fits the U.S. M1 Garand rifle. Studebaker M-series Truck
The M-series truck was a pickup truck designed in the late 1930s by the Studebaker Corporation. Production The M-series Studebaker trucks came in several versions both pre and post WW II. The M-5 was a 1/2 ton PU. The M15 was the 3/4 ton version. The M15A was the one & -ton version. The M5, M15, and M15A all came with the ''Champion'' 169 ci. engine, only. The M16 1-1/2 & 2 ton versions came with the more powerful ''Commander'' 226 ci. engine. The Studebaker US6 version was produced during the war to government specifications; using a different nose and engine configuration, in both a 4x6 & 6x6 versions of a -ton truck. In early 1945, Studebaker was given permission to produce some M Series trucks for civilian use. These early post war civilian trucks used the Studebaker US6 cab with the government style swing out windshield. Dodge M-series Chassis
The Dodge M-series chassis were a line of heavy-duty frames used under various Class A motorhomes from 1968 to 1979. M-series chassis use a Dana 60 or 70 or Spicer M70 solid rear axles with leaf springs. Frames were used by Winnebago, Champion, Apollo MotorHomes and several other RV manufacturers. The line was offered in four ratings, M-300, M-400, M-500, and M-600 depending on the application. The M600 was offered with the Rockwell F-130-NX rear axle, with a 4.88:1 gear ratio. By 1979, Chrysler Corporation no longer sold incomplete chassis and ended production of the M series. Cummins M-series Engine
The Cummins M-series engine is a straight-six diesel engine designed and produced by Cummins. It displaces . Introduced as the M11 in 1994, it was built on the previous L10 engine (same cylinder bore, but a longer piston stroke compared to the L10's stroke). Later M11's received the electronic CELECT and CELECT Plus fuel systems consisting of a gear pump and solenoid controlled injectors. The M11 CELECT Plus became the ISM when Cummins applied its Interact System (hence the "IS" in ISM) to the M11 CELECT Plus in 1998 to further improve the engine.
