Mowag W300
The Mowag W300 is a fire-fighting vehicle from Switzerland. It is a rebadged variant of the Dodge W-Series trucks. History and development Since 1955 fire engines have also been constructed at Mowag in Kreuzlingen in the Canton of Thurgau. Often adapted to Swiss needs. The models W 200 (Feuerblitz = Fire flash), W 300 and W 500 were widely used as first response vehicle or fire engine. The MOWAG W300 was manufactured in 1968 by Mowag. Equipped with a Chrysler Petrol engine with lead additive. The vehicle has all-wheel drive with terrain reduction without differential lock. A trailer hook for carrying, if required, various trailers with firefighters equipment. The tires consist of 6x 7.50 16.8 Ply tires 6-fold (rear twin tires) with a tire pressure of 5.0 bar each. The braking system is based on vacuum-assisted oil brakes. The MOWAG Eagle is a wheeled armored vehicle designed by the Swiss MOWAG corporation. It has gone through several generations of development. The current vehicle, introduced in November 2003, is the Eagle IV, which is based on the Duro IIIP chassis. The original MOWAG Eagle used the chassis and running gear of the United States Humvee, while the Eagle II and Eagle III use the chassis and running gear of the Humvee ECV. The DURO (''Durable Robust'') is a series of wheeled, multi-purpose military transport vehicles produced by General Dynamics European Land Systems/MOWAG in both four and six wheel drive. It was initially developed for Switzerland by Bucher-Guyer AG in Niederweningen, Switzerland. An initial 3000 vehicles order for the Swiss Armed Forces came through in 1994. In January 2003 the production was transferred to MOWAG in Kreuzlingen. Over 4,000 DURO 4x4 and 6x6 vehicles are now in service worldwide. The MOWAG MR8-01 (Wotan) is an armored personnel carrier. History Named as special car (SW1 and SW2) was the WOTAN from 1963 onward introduced by the Bundesgrenzschutz (West German border guard, later Bundespolizei). They were built by Bussing Henschel in Germany, approximately 700 nos. The SW 1 was referred to as Special Car 1. It did not have any armaments. The Special Car 2 was similar to the special SW1, however, it had a turret with armament: 20 mm automatic cannon or a machine gun MG 1/2 of SW 2b.
