MC Mariko
Mari Liisa Pajalahti (born 15 March 1979), also known by her stage name MC Mariko, is one of two lead singers of hip-hop music group Kwan. She has also acted in a Finnish TV soap opera called ''Salatut elämät'' in the role of Virpi Hurme from 1999 to 2000. In addition, she has played the lead role in the musical ''Dakota''. In 2007, Mariko was chosen to dance in season two of the Finnish version of ''Dancing with the Stars ''Dancing with the Stars'' is the name of various international television series based on the format of the British TV series '' Strictly Come Dancing'', which is distributed by BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC. Kwan (band)
Kwan is a hip hop/pop music group from Helsinki, Finland. Most visible members of the band are the two vocalists Mariko (Mari Liisa Pajalahti) and Tidjan (Ossi Bah Tidiane). The band started as a hip hop act, but nowadays the songs contain more singing than rapping. The first album, ''Dynasty'', sold platinum in Finland, the second one, ''The Die Is Cast'' double platinum. ''Salatut elämät'' ("Secret Lives", literally "Concealed Lives") is a Finnish television soap opera that premiered on MTV3 on 25 January 1999. The series' storylines follow the daily lives of several families who live in the same apartment block in Helsinki. The series primarily centres on the residents of Pihlajakatu and its neighbouring areas. Only six of the original twenty characters Ismo ( Esko Kovero), Kalle (Pete Lattu), Ulla (Maija-Liisa Peuhu), Aki ( Sami Uotila), Kari ( Tommi Taurula) and Elina ( Inna Tähkänen, originally played by Sanna Luostarinen) still remain in the series, and most of the series' current characters have made their debuts in 2014 or later.
