MBC Cup
The MBC Cup (Korean: MBC배) is an annual competition organized by the Korea University Basketball Federation (Korean: 한국대학농구연맹) and sponsored by broadcaster Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). It is one of the oldest basketball competitions in South Korea for college teams and predates the U-League. In Korean-language media, it is known by its full name MBC Cup National University Basketball Championship (Korean: MBC배 전국대학농구대회) to differentiate it from another similarly named competitions for college students in other sports. Prior to the establishment of the professional Korean Basketball League in 1997, basketball was an amateur sport and all senior teams participated in the National Basketball Festival (Korean: 농구대잔치), regardless of whether it was sponsored by the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps, corporate companies or universities. Seo Jang-hoon (; born 3 June 1974) is a South Korean former professional basketball player, who is currently active as an entertainer and variety show star. Early life Seo attended Whimoon High School, known as one Seoul's high school basketball powerhouses, alongside close friend Hyun Joo-yup. Gimcheon
Gimcheon (; , trans., 'gold spring city') is a city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is situated on the major land transportation routes between Seoul and Busan, namely the Gyeongbu Expressway and Gyeongbu Line railway. In ancient times, Gimcheon was famous for its three mountains (Geumo, Daedeok, Hwangak) and two rivers (Gamcheon, Jikjicheon). South Gyeongsang Province
South Gyeongsang Province ( ko, 경상남도, translit=Gyeongsangnam-do, ) is a province in the southeast of South Korea. The provincial capital is at Changwon. It is adjacent to the major metropolitan center and port of Busan. Gimhae
Gimhae () is a city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is the seat of the large Gimhae Kim clan, one of the largest Kim clans in Korea. The Gimhae Kims claim descent from the ancient royal house of Geumgwan Gaya, which was based in Gimhae. Gimhae is situated near the Nakdong River. Ham Ji-hoon
Ham Ji-hoon (born December 11, 1984) is a South Korean professional basketball player. He plays for Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in the Korean Basketball League and is the club's captain and longest-serving player after Yang Dong-geun. Early life and college career Ham attended Kyungbock High School and played as a forward before being converted into a center at Chung-Ang University. Although his height, at just under 200 cm, is not considered tall for a center even by KBL standards, he stood out for his physicality.
