MAC Award
The Hermann Trophy is awarded annually by the Missouri Athletic Club to the United States's top men's and women's college soccer players. History In 1967, Bob Hermann, the president of the National Professional Soccer League (1967), National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the NPSL's successor, the North American Soccer League (1968–1984), North American Soccer League, established a trophy to annually recognize the top men's collegiate soccer player. The trophy, named the Hermann Trophy, has been awarded each year since 1967. In 1988, a second Hermann Trophy was inaugurated to recognize the top women's collegiate player of the year. In 1986, the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) began naming an annual player of the year as a rival to the Hermann Trophy. Andrew David Gutman (born October 2, 1996) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for Major League Soccer club Atlanta United. Career Youth and college Prior to college soccer, Gutman played high school soccer for one season at Hinsdale Central High School before joining the Chicago Fire's youth academy for his sophomore through senior years of high school. Ahead of the 2015 NCAA Division I men's soccer season, Gutman signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer program. Danny O'Rourke (soccer)
Danny O'Rourke (born May 31, 1983) is a former American soccer player. Career High School and College O'Rourke played high school soccer at Worthington Kilbourne High School in Worthington, Ohio. He was captain during the 2000 season, during which they won the state championship. Named Ohio Capital Conference player of the year, All-Ohio Capital Conference First Team, All-District, and All-State. O'Rourke played college soccer for Indiana University from 2001 to 2004, starting every game he played in during his four years. Selected as All-Big 10 as a sophomore, junior, and senior, O'Rourke was named a first team All-American his senior season, also winning the Hermann Trophy while leading Indiana to a second consecutive NCAA Championship over UC Santa Barbara. Jason Garey (born July 19, 1984) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and College Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Garey, who grew up in Gonzales, Louisiana, attended St. Amant High School and played for the Baton Rouge Soccer Club. He continues to hold Louisiana high school records for most goals in a season (73) and in a career (170). Garey played college soccer at the University of Maryland. In his senior season, he scored 22 goals in 25 games, was named a first-team All-American, won the Hermann Trophy as the best college player, and led the Terrapins to the College Cup. Joseph Lapira (born August 13, 1986, Rochester, New York) is a retired soccer player. Born in the United States, Lapira is a one time international for the Republic of Ireland national football team. Besides the United States, he has played in Norway and India. Early life Lapira graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Marcus Garin Tracy (born October 2, 1986 in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania) is an American soccer player who plays as a striker. Leo Stolz (born 15 February 1991) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Youth and college Stolz began his career playing at SV Pullach.
