The M9 is a short metropolitan route in the City of Cape Town, South Africa. It connects Sir Lowry's Pass Village with Wynberg via Somerset West, Firgrove, Macassar, Khayelitsha and Nyanga. Route The M9 begins at a junction with the N2 National Route just north-east of Gordon's Bay. It begins by going northwards into the Sir Lowry's Pass Village to reach the Old Sir Lowry's Pass Road, where it turns westwards. It heads west-north-west for 10 kilometres, parallel to the N2, to pass through the town centre of Somerset West and reach a junction with the R44 Route (Broadway Boulevard). The M9 continues west-north-west as Main Road to enter Firgrove, where it turns to the south-west and immediately crosses the R102 Route (Old Main Road) and the N2 Highway again (no-longer parallel). The M4 is a long metropolitan route in the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality in South Africa. It connects the Cape Town CBD with the Cape Peninsula via Wynberg, Muizenberg and Fish Hoek. Originally, it was the main route connecting the Cape Town CBD with the Southern Suburbs. From the CBD to Kirstenhof, it is parallel to the M3 Freeway. Route The M4 begins at a junction with the M59 Route (Buitenkant Street) in District Six (Zonnebloem; east of the Cape Town City Centre), just north of the District Six Museum and just east of the Cape Town City Hall. It begins by heading eastwards as Sir Lowry Road to fly over the N2 Highway (Nelson Mandela Boulevard) and enter the Woodstock suburb. The M5 is an expressway in Cape Town, South Africa. It connects the northern suburbs (Milnerton) to Muizenberg in the south, and crosses both the N1 and the N2. For part of its length, from the N1 interchange to Plumstead, it is a limited-access freeway (motorway). From Mowbray to Muizenberg, it is parallel to the M4 Main Road. Route The M5 begins at the Potsdam interchange with the N7 Highway in the suburb of Dunoon. It connects Acacia Park with Rocklands on the False Bay Coast via the Cape Flats. Route The M7 begins at an interchange with the N1 Highway and the southern terminus of the N7 Highway adjacent to Acacia Park. The M7 begins by heading southwards as Jakes Gerwel Drive (formerly Vanguard Drive), forming the western boundary of Goodwood, to meet the R102 (Voortrekker Road). Eerste River
The Eerste River, located in the Western Cape, South Africa, rises on Dwarsberg 60 km east of Cape Town at the head of Jonkershoek. The Eerste River catchment covers the eastern part of the Cape Flats lying to the west of the Hottentots Holland Mountains and south of the Tygerberg where the Kuils River tributary rises east of Kanonkop. The Eerste River is a short river; its length has been given as 40 km. The major tributary, Kuils River, is approximately 30 km long to its point of confluence with the Eerste River. A population of the endangered local endemic Berg River Redfin (''Pseudobarbus burgi'') was found in the Eerste River. It has become extinct in recent times.
