M3 (Warsaw)
Line M3 is the planned third line of the Warsaw Metro. The first section will number 6 stations and will link Stadion Narodowy with Gocław. History The first plans to construct the metro line emerged in the 1970s and 1980s, with a view to construct M3 between Okęcie and Ochota with Gocław and Julianów. Later on, plans were changed, wiht the connection shortened to one between Okęcie and Warsaw West railway station. Plans were shortened once again, with the final draft of the line covering stations from the National Stadium to Gocław. In 2015, Warsaw city authorities planned for the construction of the M3 metro line between Stadion Narodowy and Gocław to commence in 2020. In 2018, Civic Platform's Warsaw mayoral candidate Rafał Trzaskowski declared, if he won the upcoming elections, the construction of the M3 metro line would begin before the end of 2023. Praga-South ( pl, Praga-Południe, ) is a district of Warsaw located on the east bank of the Vistula River. It consists of Grochów, Gocław, Kamionek and Saska Kępa. History The area of today's Praga-South has been inhabited since at least the 7th century. There are traces of settlements established earlier than Warsaw itself. However, the swampy and often flooded terrain was deserted as soon as Warsaw was founded. Since the 16th century it was again populated, but due to lack of communication with Warsaw (until the 19th century there were no permanent bridges across the Vistula at Warsaw) it was an unimportant suburb. Praga-Północ (from Polish: ''North Prague'') is a district in Warsaw located in the central part of the city. History Praga is one of the oldest districts in Warsaw. Through the centuries, Warsaw's right-bank was an independent town. In 1648 it was granted municipal rights by the king Władysław IV Vasa. It was joined to Warsaw at the end of 18th century. Metro Wilanowska is a station on Line M1 of the Warsaw Metro, located in the Mokotów district of Warsaw at the junction of Aleja Niepodległości, Puławska Street, and Aleja Wilanowska, all main streets of Warsaw. M1 (Warsaw)
Line M1 is the first line of the Warsaw Metro. It is 23.1 km long, has 21 stations and runs from the Kabaty estate in the Ursynów district to the Młociny district in Bielany. The decision to build it was made in 1982, and a year later the first works in Ursynów began. In 1995, the first section of the route connecting Ursynów and Mokotów with Śródmieście was launched, and the next sections were put into operation in the following years. In 2008, construction of the Bielany section was completed and crossings on the whole line were started. There is also a plan to add two additional stations around the center portion of the metro line. M1 trains run from approximately 5:00 AM to 12:10 AM (from Monday to Thursday and Sunday) and from approximately 5:00 AM to 3:00 AM (Fridays and Saturdays). The Vistula (; pl, Wisła, ) is the longest river in Poland and the ninth-longest river in Europe, at in length. The drainage basin, reaching into three other nations, covers , of which is in Poland.
