Męskie Granie
Męskie Granie (Polish: ''Masculine Playing'') is a concert tour, initiated by Żywiec Brewery. It is organized each year in the summer in major Polish cities, with the addition of the town Żywiec. The first edition was held in 2010. The aim of the tour is to present the creative side of Polish music scene and to encourage the audience to listen to musical experiments, such as jazz musicians playing with rappers. Major Polish artists participate in the tour. Editions Męskie Granie 2010 Six concerts were organized: in Gdańsk (17 July 2010), Katowice (24 July 2010), Poznań (31 July 2010), Cracow (7 August 2010), Wrocław (14 August 2010) and Warsaw (21 August 2010). Additionally, a special concert in the town Żywiec was organized on 24 September 2010, it was attended by 10,000 people. The concerts were attended by 30,000 people. Tomasz Stańko
Tomasz Ludwik Stańko (11 July 1942 – 29 July 2018) was a Polish trumpeter and composer. Stańko was associated with free jazz and the avant-garde. In 1962, Tomasz Stańko formed his first band, the Jazz Darings, with saxophonist Janusz Muniak, pianist Adam Makowicz, bassist Jacek Ostaszewski, drummer Wiktor Perelmuter. Inspired by Ornette Coleman and the innovations of John Coltrane, Miles Davis and George Russell, the group is often cited by music historians as the first European group to play free jazz. In his later years, he collaborated with pianist Krzysztof Komeda on Komeda's album '' Astigmatic'', recorded in late 1965. In 1968, Stańko formed a quintet whose members were Janusz Muniak (tenor and soprano saxophones, flute), Zbigniew Seifert (alto sax and violin), Bronisław Suchanek (bass), Janusz Stefański (drums, percussion). The Cool Kids of Death is a Polish alternative rock band formed in Łódź in 2001. Their name comes from a Saint Etienne (band), Saint Etienne Tiger Bay (album), song. The band is well known in Poland due to their radical lyrics and widely expressing the "Generation Nothing" ( pl, Generacja Nic, links=no) voice –the "movement" which accused the Polish establishment of constraining the professional chances and future of young and well-educated Poles. Raz, Dwa, Trzy (Polish for ''One, Two, Three'') is a Polish music band, which joins rock, jazz and folk with contemporary poetry. It was founded in February 1990 by students of the Pedagogical College in Zielona Góra (now University of Zielona Góra). Adam Pierończyk (born 24 January 1970) is a Polish jazz saxophonist and composer. He plays tenor and soprano saxophones, as well as the zoucra. Early life Pierończyk was born in Elblag, Poland, on 24 January 1970. He learned the piano for three years from the age of eight, and later switched to saxophone. After moving with his parents to Germany, he "enrolled in the jazz department at the Higher Music School". Later life and career Pierończyk has won awards from the Polish magazine ''Jazz Forum'': New Hope of Polish Jazz in 1997, and the readers' choice as Best Soprano Saxophonist in 2003 and 2004. Emade (real name Piotr Waglewski) (born December 15, 1981) is a Polish hip-hop producer, brother of rapper Fisz and son of the Polish musician Wojciech Waglewski, lead vocalist of Voo Voo. He started out playing percussion at the age of 13 in his own hardcore formation. Few years later he formed RHX group with his brother and Inespe and began his career as a hip-hop producer with their debut album release in 1999. Bartosz Waglewski (Fisz) born March 19, 1978 in Warszawa, Poland is a Polish rap artist. He is the son of musician Wojciech Waglewski and older brother of Emade (Piotr Waglewski). He studied at Europejska Akademia Sztuk (EAS). The musical style of Fisz is unconventional. At the very beginning of his career he started out as a hip-hop artist, but went experimental soon after releasing Tworzywo Sztuczne – Wielki Ciężki Słoń in 2004. Fisz and his producer Emade seek inspiration in black music giving soul, funk and jazz touch to their projects. His lyrics are often based on wordplay. The Fryderyk is the annual award in Polish music. Its name refers to the original Polish spelling variant of Polish composer Frédéric Chopin's first name. Its status in the Polish public can be compared to the American Grammy and the UK's BRIT Award. Officially created in 1994 and presented for the first time in 1995, the award was initially conferred by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (''Związek Producentów Audio-Video'', ZPAV).
