Mölbling ( sl, Molnek ) is a municipality on the Gurk River in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in the Austrian state of Carinthia. Geography Mölbling lies about 27 km northeast of Klagenfurt. The Gurk runs through the eastern edge of the municipality. The commune comprises the ''Katastralgemeinden'' of Dielach, Gunzenberg, Meiselding, Rabing, and Rastenfeld. Carl Auer Von Welsbach
Carl Auer von Welsbach (1 September 1858 – 4 August 1929), who received the Austrian noble title of Freiherr Auer von Welsbach in 1901, was an Austrian scientist and inventor, who separated didymium into the elements neodymium and praseodymium in 1885. He was also one of three scientists to independently discover the element lutetium (which he named ''cassiopeium''), separating it from ytterbium in 1907, setting off the longest priority dispute in the history of chemistry. He had a talent not only for making scientific advances, but also for turning them into commercially successful products. His work on rare-earth elements led to the development of the ferrocerium "flints" used in modern lighters, the gas mantle that brought light to the streets of Europe in the late 19th century, and the metal-filament light bulb. The Austrian People's Party (german: Österreichische Volkspartei , ÖVP ) is a Christian-democratic and liberal-conservative political party in Austria. Gurk (river)
The Gurk (; sl, Krka) is a river in the Austrian state of Carinthia, a left tributary of the Drava. With a length of it is the longest river running entirely within Carinthia. Its drainage basin is , which covers about 27% of the state's territory. The Gurk rises in the Nock Mountains (Gurktal Alps) range of the Central Eastern Alps, near the border with the Austrian state of Styria. Its sources are two small cirque lakes, the Gurksee and the Torersee near Albeck and the Turracher Höhe Pass, a protected area since 1981.
