The Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée is the ''métropole'', an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Toulon. It is located in the Var department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, southeastern France. It was created in January 2018, replacing the ''communauté d'agglomération'' that had been created in December 2001. Its area is 366.4 km2. Its population was 438,985 in 2018, of which 176,198 in Toulon proper.Comparateur de territoire

Toulon
Toulon (, , ; oc, label= Provençal, Tolon , , ) is a city on the French Riviera and a large port on the Mediterranean coast, with a major naval base. Located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, and the Provence province, Toulon is the prefecture of the Var department. The Commune of Toulon has a population of 176,198 people (2018), making it France's 13th-largest city. It is the centre of an urban unit with 580,281 inhabitants (2018), the ninth largest in France. La Garde, Var
La Garde (; Provençal Occitan: ''La Garda'') is a seaside commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. It is located in the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée, east of the city of Toulon. In 2019, it had a population of 25,505. History The name derives from the town's ancient origins, meaning "The Guard". It is mentioned in 1056, when its castle was a fief of the Bishops of Toulon; they kept it until the 13th century, when it was handed over to the Castellanes, then the lords of Glandevès and the Thomas. Today only a tower and the chapel remain of the castle. La Garde was repeatedly invaded during the French Wars of Religion. In 1707 it was sacked by Savoyard troops. Six-Fours-les-Plages
Six-Fours-les-Plages (; oc, Sièis Forns lei Plaias, Sièis Four in provençal), is a Communes of France, commune in the Var (département), Var Departments of France, department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regions of France, region in southeastern France. La Seyne-sur-Mer
La Seyne-sur-Mer (; "La Seyne on Sea"; oc, La Sanha), or simply La Seyne, is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. In 2018, it had a population of 62,888. La Seyne-sur-Mer, which is part of the agglomeration of Toulon, is situated adjacent to the west of the city. Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer
Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer (, "Saint-Mandrier on Sea"; oc, Sant Mandrier de Mar), commonly referred to simply as Saint-Mandrier (former official name), is a commune in the southeastern French department of Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. A ''métropole'' (French for "metropolis") is an administrative entity in France, in which several communes cooperate, and which has the right to levy local tax, an ''établissement public de coopération intercommunale à fiscalité propre''. It is the most integrated form of intercommunality in France, more than the ''communauté urbaine'', the ''communauté d'agglomération'' and the ''Communauté de communes''.
