Märit Rausing
The Rausing family are a wealthy Swedish family, best known for the Tetra Pak founder Ruben Rausing. Several members of the family now live in the United Kingdom. History The son of the small business owners August Andersson and Mathilda Fredrika Svensson, Ruben Andersson (later Rausing), was born 1895 in Raus, Helsingborg. Ruben studied at the Stockholm School of Economics and Business Administration and at Columbia University in the United States, from which he received the degree of Master of Science in 1920. Back in Sweden later that same year, he became a director of Esselte. In 1921 he changed his surname to Rausing. In 1929 becoming a partner in a packaging company, Åkerlund & Rausing. In 1933 he bought out the other partners' shares. In the early 1940s, he had the idea of manufacturing packaging for liquid products. Ruben Rausing
Anders Ruben Rausing (; né Andersson; 17 June 1895 – 10 August 1983) was a Swedish industrialist and the founder of the liquid food packaging company Tetra Pak. Early life Anders Ruben Andersson was born in 1895 in Råå, a small fishing hamlet in the district of Raus outside of Helsingborg in the south of Sweden, to August and Mathilda Andersson. His father ran a small but successful business as a master painter. Rausing went to Upper Secondary School in Helsingborg, graduating in 1915. When doing his military service, Rausing, at the time still called (Anders) Ruben Andersson, was allegedly nicknamed ''rausingen'' by his fellow servicemen, meaning "the lad from Raus" (referring to his parish of origin). Sir Hans Kristian Rausing (; born 15 June 1963) is a Swedish billionaire and the son of packaging industrialist Hans Rausing. His grandfather Ruben Rausing founded the food-packaging giant Tetra Pak. The family has an estimated $12 billion fortune. Rausing did not enter the family business. Instead, he travelled in his youth before meeting Eva Kemeny while in drug rehabilitation in the United States. On 16 October 1992, the couple married. Peter Baldwin (born December 22, 1956) is a research professor of history at the University of California, Los Angeles, Global Distinguished Professor at New York University, and a philanthropist. Birgit Rausing (born 26 October 1924) is a Swedish art historian, philanthropist, a former billionaire heiress and the widow of Gad Rausing (1922–2000).
