''Beyond Oblivion'' () is a 1956 Argentine drama film directed by Hugo del Carril, starring Laura Hidalgo and del Carril. It tells the story of a man who has lost the woman he loved and tries to turn another woman into her. The screenplay is loosely based on the novel '' Bruges-la-Morte'' by Georges Rodenbach. Hugo Del Carril
Pierre Bruno Hugo Fontana, otherwise known as Hugo del Carril (30 November 1912 – 13 August 1989 in Buenos Aires), was an Argentine film actor, film director and tango singer of the classic era. Early life Born in Buenos Aires, del Carril was the son of parents of a rich economic position, his mother Orsolina Bertani was born in Argentina (daughter of the Italian Anarchist Orsini Bertani), but his father Hugo Fontana was an Italian architect, born in Milan. But in spite of the comforts and the comfortable life they led, his parents separated and young Hugo was left in the charge of a family friend. Career Del Carril originally began as a popular personality on Argentine radio, and parlayed that into a film career that began in late 1936. Georges Raymond Constantin Rodenbach (16 July 1855 – 25 December 1898) was a Belgian Symbolist poet and novelist. Biography Georges Rodenbach was born in Tournai to a French mother and a German father from the Rhineland (Andernach). Alberto Amado Ribero, known professionally as Tito Ribero, (16 May 1915 – 18 July 1964) was an Argentine film score composer, composer, singer, and musician. Laura Hidalgo
Laura Hidalgo (1 May 1927 – 18 November 2005) was an Argentine Actor, actress. Born in Chisinau, Bessarabia as Pesea Faerman Postolow, her family moved in 1931 to Buenos Aires , where she grew up. Hidalgo appeared in sixteen films in Mexico, Spain and Argentina. She often drew comparisons with the Austrian actress Hedy Lamarr, whom she resembled. In 1954, she was nominated for an Ariel Award for Best Actress for her performance in ''Las tres perfectas casadas'' (1953). She retired from acting in 1958, following her marriage to an architect, and settled in Mexico. Later in life, she moved to the United States. Lidia Ángela "Lili" Massaferro (23 November 1926 – 26 April 2001) was an Argentine actress and Montonero militant. Biography In the mid-1940s, Lili Massaferro studied Philosophy and Literature.
