''Metalhead'' ( is, Málmhaus) is a 2013 Icelandic drama film written and directed by Ragnar Bragason. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Plot In the summer of 1983, a twelve-year-old girl, Hera Karlsdóttir, lives a normal life on her family farm in a close-knit community. This changes once she watches her older brother Baldur fall off a tractor before his long hair is scalped by its blades. He is rushed out by the family by truck for medical attention, but he dies of his injury. At his funeral, Hera glares at the portrait of Jesus on the wall and runs out of the church during the service. Returning home, she picks up her brother's guitar and immediately adopts his metal music and fashion, burning all of her old clothes. Ragnar Bragason
Ragnar Bragason (born 15 September 1971) is an Icelandic film director, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Droplaug was born in Súðavík, Iceland. He is best known for his films '' Börn'' (''Children'') and ''Foreldrar'' (''Parents''), both Edda Award winners, and the popular TV series ''Næturvaktin'' (''The Night Shift''), ''Dagvaktin'' (''The Day Shift''), and ''Fangavaktin'' (''The Prison Shift''). Ragnar grew up in the village of Súðavík, in a family of fishermen and farmers. He got his start making short videos in college. After directing many music videos, shorts and documentaries, he released his first feature-film ''Fíaskó'' (''Fiasco'') in 2000. Sigrún Edda Björnsdóttir (born 30 August 1958) is an Icelandic actress and author. Magnús Ólafsson (born 17 February 1946) is an Icelandic actor, comedian, singer and former handball player. A veteran stage and film actor of several decades, he is best known for his performance of the character ''Bjössi Bolla'' which was created when he was a member of the comedy band Sumargleðin in the early 1980's along with Ragnar Bjarnason, Ómar Ragnarsson, Bessi Bjarnason and Þorgeir Ástvaldsson. With Sumargleðin, he sang the hit song ''Prins Póló'' in 1981.
