Myrton Wegener
Myrton O. Wegener (November 7, 1917 – May 5, 1991) was an American businessman and politician. Wegener was born in Woodside Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. He went to the Bertha, Todd County, Minnesota public schools and graduated from Bertha High School. Wegener served as mayor of Bertha, Minnesota. He was a farmer. Wegener was also involved with the creamery, real estate, farm equipment dealership, and used car dealership businesses. Woodside Township is a township in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 293 at the 2000 census. History Woodside Township was organized in 1877, and named for tracts of woods within its borders. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.8 km), all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 293 people, 90 households, and 77 families residing in the township. The population density was 8.1 people per square mile (3.1/km). Otter Tail County, Minnesota
Otter Tail County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, its population was 60,081. Its county seat is Fergus Falls. Otter Tail County comprises the Fergus Falls micropolitan statistical area. With 1,048 lakes in its borders, Otter Tail County has more lakes than any other county in the United States. History Native Americans used the area for hunting and fishing, and had permanent dwelling sites. Two Native American tribes were in constant conflict. The Dakota (Sioux) were being pushed from their home area by the Ojibwa (Chippewa) during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Burial mounds and artifacts can still be found. Bertha is a city in Todd County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 497 at the 2010 census. History Bertha was platted in 1891, and named for Bertha Ristan, an early settler. Bertha was incorporated in 1897. During the mid 1920s, Bertha was the home of a semi-pro baseball team known as the Bertha Fishermen, which included players Elmer Brandell and John Donaldson during the 1925 season. Todd County is a county in the central part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,262. Its county seat is Long Prairie. History The county was created by the Minnesota Territorial legislature on February 20, 1855, although the county government was not organized until January 1, 1867, with Long Prairie as the county seat.
