Myristica Fatua
''Myristica'' is a genus of trees in the family Myristicaceae. There are over 150 species, distributed in Asia and the western Pacific. The type species of the genus, and the most economically important member, is ''Myristica fragrans'' (the nutmeg tree), from which mace is also derived. Etymology The name ' is from the Greek adjective , meaning ‘fragrant, for anointing’, referring to its early use. The adjective is from the noun (‘perfume, ointment, anointing oil’). Description All or nearly all species are dioecious. Knuth (1904) however cites a report of trees being male in their sex expression when young and female later. Perianth of one whorl of three largely united segments. Stamens two to thirty, partly or wholly united. The ovary is superior, consisting of a single uniovulate carpel.Secondary Pollen Presentation. page 7. Myristica Fragrans
''Myristica fragrans'' is an evergreen tree indigenous to the Maluku Islands of Indonesia. It is important as the main source of the spices nutmeg and mace. It is widely grown across the tropics including Guangdong and Yunnan in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Grenada in the Caribbean, Kerala in India, Sri Lanka and South America. Description ''Myristica fragrans'' is an evergreen tree, usually tall, but occasionally reaching or even on Tidore. The alternately arranged leaves are dark green, long by wide with petioles about long. The species is dioecious, i.e. "male" or staminate flowers and "female" or carpellate flowers are borne on different plants, although occasional individuals produce both kinds of flower. The flowers are bell-shaped, pale yellow and somewhat waxy and fleshy. Staminate flowers are arranged in groups of one to ten, each long; carpellate flowers are in smaller groups, one to three, and somewhat longer, up to long. Carpellate trees produce s ...

Myristica Dactyloides
''Myristica dactyloides'' is a species of plant in the family Myristicaceae. It is endemic to Sri Lanka. The species was earlier thought to occur in India because two subspecies of the related '' Myristica beddomei'' found in India, namely ''M. b. beddomei'' and ''M. b. ustulata,'' were wrongly identified as ''M. dactyloides'' Gaertn. in many herbarium specimens and regional floras. Taxonomy ''Myristica dactyloides'' differs from the Indian taxon ''M. beddomei'' in leaf and flower characteristics. The former has broadly lanceolate to broadly elliptic leaves with obtuse base, being brownish with indistinct veins on the underside. The male flowers have caducous bracteoles and the male flower buds are distinctly ellipsoid with pointed apex. Some sources have it as a synonym of ''Myristica malabarica ''Myristica malabarica'' is a species of plant in the family Myristicaceae. It is endemic to the Western Ghats in southwest India.
