Gias Uddin Ahmed
Gias Uddin Ahmed (9 May 1954 – 5 September 2022) was an Awami League politician, officer of the Bangladesh Army and member of parliament for Mymensingh-10. Career Ahmed fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War. Ahmed was arrested in 1981 for being involved in the assassination of Ziaur Rahman, president of Bangladesh. Ahmed was elected to Parliament in 2008 from Mymensingh-10 as an Awami League candidate. He had received 142,126 votes while his nearest rival from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Fazlur Rahman Sultan, had received 71,511 votes. He served in the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Md Enamul Haque Zoj ( – 11 January 2023) was a Bangladeshi Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Mymensingh-10 constituency. Early life Zoj studied at a Cadet College in Islamabad, Pakistan. He had completed his graduation in Lahore University. He later joined the Pakistan Army in 1968 as secretary of the Cumilla Armed Services Board until 1969. General elections were held in Bangladesh on 27 February 1991. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) emerged as the largest party in parliament, winning 140 of the 300 directly-elected seats. 2014 Bangladeshi General Election
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 5 January 2014, in accordance with the constitutional requirement that elections must take place within the 90-day period before the expiration of the term of the Jatiya Sangshad on 24 January 2014. 2008 Bangladeshi General Election
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 29 December 2008. The two main parties in the election were the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Khaleda Zia, and the Bangladesh Awami League Party, led by Sheikh Hasina.
