Mylee Grace
Mylee Grace (born 1985) is an Australian musician signed to Love Police Records. She is married to surfer-artist Ozzie Wright. They have two children. Career Mylee Grace recorded her first EP ''Songs From Cat Hill'' when she was 16 years old. The EP featured the song ''Thesaurus Rex'' which earned airplay on FBi Radio and later re-released in 2011 on her EP ''Baby Talk'', supported by a video for the song ''Valley Of Scum''. After giving birth to her first child at 22, Grace accompanied her husband Ozzie Wright on a tour of Europe with his band The Goons of Doom. The couple had first met when Grace was ten and Wright was nineteen. They now have two children. Following her EP, Mylee Grace performed as Mylee & The Milkshakes and released an album with her husband called ''Mylee Grace and Ozzy Wrong Songs'', which they recorded in one week during 2013. Ozzie Wright (born 1 July 1976) is an Australian professional surfer, painter, and musician. He is sponsored by Volcom and Santa Cruz surfboards. His artwork has been featured on Volcom clothing, and he was a character in the cartoon ''The Dawn of the Stone Age'', which was part of a Volcom marketing campaign. He is a member of the punk rock band Goons of Doom, and in 2013 he released the album ''Mylee Grace And Ozzy Wrong Songs'' with his wife Mylee Grace. His artwork has been shown in Australia, France, England, Switzerland, Japan, USA, and Indonesia. It has been included on surfboards, album covers, and clothing. Love Police Records or Love Police Records and Tapes is an independent record label based in Surry Hills, New South Wales. It was founded by Brian Taranto in September 2004 as a concept born from a t-shirt design, who was then joined by Andy Kent (of You Am I). One of their earliest signings was the Cops, which issued an album, ''Stomp on Tripwires'' (September 2004). In September 2004 Taranto explained why he had started the label, "We started a label because we loved the Cops' demos so much, and we could also see the potential of future releases that involved international artists we tour. It was more of a case of 'Why not, we can do this ourselves' than some master plan to be independent." FBi (call sign: 2FBI) station is an independent, not-for-profit community radio in Sydney, Australia. FBi places a heavy emphasis on local emerging music: it has a policy that at least 50 per cent of its music content is to be Australian, of which at least half comes from Sydney musicians. Mazzy Star is an American alternative rock band formed in 1988 in Santa Monica, California, from remnants of the group Opal. Founding member David Roback's friend Hope Sandoval became the group's vocalist when Kendra Smith left Opal. Mazzy Star is best known for the song "Fade into You", which brought the band some success in the mid-1990s and was the group's biggest mainstream hit, earning extensive exposure on MTV, VH1, and radio airplay. The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964. ''Rhythms Magazine'' is a bi-monthly Australian music magazine, focusing on blues, folk, jazz, and world music, which was first published in 1992 in Melbourne. History The magazine was founded by Brian Wise in April 1992 after he visited the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and noticed the city had two monthly roots music magazines and was inspired to start his own in Melbourne.
