Mykhailo Derehus
Mykhailo Hordiiovych Derehus (Ukrainian: Дерегус Михайло Гордійович; born December 5, 1904, Veseloye, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukrainian SSR — July 31, 1997, Kyiv, Ukraine) was a Soviet Ukrainian graphic artist, painter and educator. In 1969 he was awarded the Shevchenko National Prize. His work is held in the collection of the Kuindzhi Art Museum, Mariupol, Ukraine. Life and work Derehus' expressionist lithographs illustrated the 1936 edition of Ivan Kotliarevsky's '' Eneïda''. He also illustrated the works of Nikolai Gogol, Lesya Ukrainka, Marko Vovchok, and Natan Rybak. He was Chairman of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine from 1955 to 1962. Ukrainian Language
Ukrainian ( uk, украї́нська мо́ва, translit=ukrainska mova, label=native name, ) is an East Slavic language of the Indo-European language family. It is the native language of about 40 million people and the official state language of Ukraine in Eastern Europe. Written Ukrainian uses the Ukrainian alphabet, a variant of the Cyrillic script. Natan Rybak
Natan Rybak (Рибак, Натан; 3 January 1913 – 11 September 1978) was a Ukrainian poet and socialist-realist writer of Jewish origin. Rybak published 3 collections of poetry in the 1930s. He published around 20 collections of short stories mostly in the 1930s and 1940s. He is best known for his novels. He was awarded the Stalin Prize in 1950 for volume 1 of the novel ''Pereiaslavs’ka rada''. The novel ''Pomylka Onore de Bal’zaka'' was filmed in 1969. Ivan Vrona (russian: link=no, Ива́н Ива́нович Вро́на, uk, Іва́н Іва́нович Вро́на), (, Otrocz, — 5 January 1970, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian art critic and artist. He was Rector of the Kyiv Art Institute (1924–1930), one of the founders of The Association of Revolutionary Art of Ukraine (ARMU), PHD (1951). Member of Union of artists of UkSSR. National Museum Taras Shevchenko
National Museum Taras Shevchenko () is a museum in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, dedicated to the life and work of the painter and national poet, Taras Shevchenko. History The museum and its collection originated as part of an initiative by friends of Shevchenko to preserve his legacy shortly after his death. By 1897 the collection had grown and it was collectively transferred to the Museum of Ukrainian Antiquities, which was later merged into Chernihiv Historical Museum ( uk). In 1926 the Shevchenko Institute in Kharkiv was founded, which became the home of the collection, and an initial Taras Shevchenko Museum operated as a section of the manuscripts department of the Institute.
