My Two Worlds is a novel by the Argentine writer Sergio Chejfec Sergio Chejfec (28 November 1956 – 2 April 2022) was an Argentine Jewish writer. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1956. Chejfec published eighteen books, including novels, essays, short stories, and a poetry collection. From 1990 to 2005 he lived .... The book follows a first-person narrator as he takes a walk through an unnamed Brazilian city. It depicts the narrator's wandering both physically and mentally through an unfamiliar environment that reminds him of other walks he has taken in other cities. Chejfec says he set the novel in Brazil because it is an immense country that is culturally and linguistically different from the rest of Latin America, which gives the character space to get lost in and reflect on the separation within himself. Argentine literature, i.e. the set of literary works produced by writers who originated from Argentina, is one of the most prolific, relevant and influential in the whole Spanish speaking world, with renowned writers such as Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortázar, Leopoldo Lugones and Ernesto Sábato. Sergio Chejfec (28 November 1956 – 2 April 2022) was an Argentine Jewish writer. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1956. Chejfec published eighteen books, including novels, essays, short stories, and a poetry collection. From 1990 to 2005 he lived in Venezuela, where he published ''Nueva sociedad'', a journal of politics, culture and the social sciences. He most recently lived in New York City and held the position of Distinguished Writer in Residence in the M.F.A. Creative Writing program in Spanish at New York University.
