''My Destiny In Your Hands'' ( pt, Meu Destino em Tuas Mãos) is a 1963 Brazilian drama film written, directed by, and starring José Mojica Marins. Marins is also known by his alter ego Zé do Caixão (in English, Coffin Joe). Synopsis A husband comes home drunk and beats his wife. His son Carlito tries to defend his mother with a broomstick. The father turns to the boy menacingly and threatens "I'll kill you!". Terrified, the boy flees with four other young children, all poor and suffering abuse and exploitation at home by their families. The children try to live and survive life on the streets on the outskirts of São Paulo. Carlito (Franquito), the eldest of them, plays guitar and sings to make money. Marins composed three of the ten songs composed for Carlito in the film. Herminio Giménez
Herminio Giménez (February 20, 1905 – July 6, 1991) was a Paraguayan composer. Life At the early age of 11 he was already part of the Paraguarí music band and two years later he was hired to be part of the Asunción marching band. While at the marching band he made his first successful song, a polca named ''Jasy Morotí'', in 1918. He was the first person to record Paraguayan music in an album, in 1927. The continued beauty of his works throughout the years positioned Giménez as one of the greatest Latin American composers. During the Chaco War he was assigned as the Director of the Military band and once the war was over he received several awards. Due to the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner's government, Giménez went into exile in Argentina. He spent most of his time in the city of Corrientes. José Mojica Marins (13 March 1936 – 19 February 2020) was a Brazilian filmmaker, actor, composer, screenwriter, and television horror host. Marins is also known for creating and playing the character Coffin Joe (loosely translated from Zé do Caixão) in a series of horror films; the character has since gone on to become his alter ego as well as a pop culture icon, a horror icon, and a cult figure.
