''My Aunt, Your Aunt'' (german: Meine Tante – deine Tante) is a 1927 German silent comedy film directed by Carl Froelich and starring Ralph Arthur Roberts, Angelo Ferrari and Henny Porten.Grange p. 251 It was shot at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin and premiered at the city's Ufa-Palast am Zoo. The film's sets were designed by the art director Franz Schroedter. It was made by the leading German studio of the era UFA GmbH and distributed as part of the Parufamet agreement. It shares its name with two sound films released in 1939 and 1956. Frieda Ulricke "Henny" Porten (7 January 1890 – 15 October 1960) was a German actress and film producer of the silent era, and Germany's first major film star. She appeared in more than 170 films between 1906 and 1955. Biography Frieda Ulricke Porten was born in Magdeburg, in what was then the German Empire. A sound film is a motion picture with synchronized sound, or sound technologically coupled to image, as opposed to a silent film. The first known public exhibition of projected sound films took place in Paris in 1900, but decades passed before sound motion pictures became commercially practical.
