''Mutthi Bhar Chawal'' (A Handful of Rice) is a 1978 Pakistani classical Urdu film based on a short novel of Rajinder Singh Bedi, ''Ek Chadar Maili Si''. Directed by Sangeeta and composed by Kamal Ahmed, it features Sangeeta, Nadeem Baig, Kaveeta, Rahat Kazmi, and Ghulam Mohiuddin in lead roles. It is one of the greatest hits of Sangeeta and debut film of Syed Noor as a screenwriter. The film is about a village life and struggle of a family to survive after father dies and a village woman becomes widowed as a result. It is one of the Pakistani films with the maximum number of awards won, including five Nigar Awards. Plot A Sikh woman Rani/Rano Sangeeta who lives in East Punjab with her in laws. Sangeeta (Pakistani Actress)
Parveen Rizvi, better known as Sangeeta, ( ur, ; born 14 June 1947) is a Pakistani film actress, filmmaker and director of television drama serials. Early life Parveen Rizvi was born on 14 June 1947 in Karachi, British India. Parveen Rizvi's (or Sangeeta's) mother Mehtab Rizvi also had a career in show business. Syed Noor (Punjabi language, Punjabi, ur, ) (born Syed Ghulam Mohyuddin Noor) is a Pakistani film director based in Lahore. In 1970 Syed Noor joined the Pakistani film industry as an assistant to director S. Suleman. Noor assisted S. Suleman for 18 feature films, after which, he penned his first script for the film, "Society Girl" in 1976, which was considered the best film of the year. After the success of his first film, Noor became the prime screenwriting talent in the Pakistani film industry and worked with all the prominent directors of the time.
