Muskwa Ranges
The Muskwa Ranges are a group of mountain ranges in northern British Columbia, Canada. They are part of the Northern Rockies section of the Rocky Mountains and are bounded on their west by the Rocky Mountain Trench and on their east by the Rocky Mountain Foothills. They are delimited on the north by the Liard River and on the south by the Peace Reach of the Lake Williston reservoir (formerly the Peace River), south of which the next major grouping of the Rockies is the Hart Ranges. Mount Lloyd George
Mount Lloyd George is a peak in British Columbia, Canada, rising to a prominence of above Lloyd George Pass. The mountain is located NE of Haworth Lake in Kwadacha Wilderness Provincial Park. Its line parent is Mount Sylvia, away. It is part of the Northern Rocky Mountains. Geology Lying in the Muskwa Ranges, Mount Lloyd George is a castellated limestone and quartzite peak. The diamictite sedimentary deposits of the mountain, several kilometers thick, date to the late Precambrian and probably have a glacial-marine origin. The age of the diamictite is not certain. It may be associated with either the Toby or the Vreeland formations of the North American Cordillera. Ice field The Lloyd George Icefield in 1998 covered over . Battle Of Britain Range
The Battle of Britain Range is a group of mountains within the Allies Group of the Muskwa Ranges in northern British Columbia, Canada. The Muskwa Ranges also include the Tower of London Range, Italy Range and Allied Leaders Range. The range trends from northeast to southwest. About of the range is covered by glaciers, which lie in the basins of the Churchill Creek, Racing River and Gataga River. Major peaks include the Churchill Peak, Exploration Peak and Lindisfarne Peak. The names of the peaks commemorate the allied leaders in World War II, places where the leaders met, and battles in which Canadian troops served. Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (30 November 187424 January 1965) was a British statesman, soldier, and writer who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice, from 1940 to 1945 during the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955.
