The Music in Leeds ecompasses a variety of styles and genres, including rock, pop and electronic. The Independent
''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. Dub is an electronic musical style that grew out of reggae in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Afro-Caribbean people or African Caribbean are Caribbean people who trace their full or partial ancestry to Sub-Saharan Africa. Chapeltown is a suburb of north-east Leeds, in West Yorkshire, England. It is part of the Leeds City Council Ward of Chapel Allerton. It is approximately one mile north of Leeds city centre. Damnation Festival is a one-day heavy metal music festival currently held annually at Bowlers Exhibition Centre. Manchester.
