Gallo Record Company
Gallo Record Company is the largest (and oldest independent) record label in South Africa. It is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is owned by Arena Holdings. The current Gallo Record Company is a hybrid of two South African record labels, rivals between the 1940s and 1980s: the original Gallo Africa (1926–85) and G.R.C. (Gramophone Record Company, 1939–85). In 1985 Gallo Africa acquired G.R.C.; as a result, Gallo Africa became known as Gallo-GRC. Five years after the acquisition, the company was renamed Gallo Record Company. History Eric Gallo set up a one-man business, the Brunswick Gramophone House, in 1926. The record shop was originally devised to distribute records from the US-based Brunswick Records into South Africa. Black Coffee (DJ)
Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo (born 11 March 1976), better known by his stage name Black Coffee, is a South African DJ, record producer and songwriter. Coffee established his own record label Soulistic Music, and released his debut self-titled album ''Black Coffee'' (2005), which incorporated elements of R&B and jazz. His career began around 1994 and became prominent after participating in the 2004 Red Bull Music Academy, since then he has released nine studio albums, as well as a live DVD. Sanele Tresure Sithole (born 28 March 1989), known professionally as Sun-El Musician, is a South African disc jockey, music producer, and songwriter. Born and raised in Mooi River. He attended University of KwaZulu-Natal but dropped out to purse a career in music. His debut studio album '' Africa to the World'' (2018), which was certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). He was a producer for Demor Music before the establishment of his own record label EL World Music. His most recent album ''African Electronic Dance Music'' was released in October 2021.
