The Museum of Everyday Culture (german: Museum der Alltagskultur) is a museum of cultural history in Waldenbuch, a town close by Stuttgart, Germany. It is a branch of the Landesmuseum Württemberg and one of the most important museums of folk culture in Germany. History and concept The Museum of Everyday Culture exists as an independent institution since 1989/90. The folkloric collection of the Landesmuseum Württemberg can be traced back to the former Landesgewerbemuseum in Stuttgart which was founded in the 19th century. Collection The museum's collection covers a wide range of different topics and different ages – from traditional folk art to modern pop culture. Waldenbuch ( Swabian: ''Waldebuech'') is a town in the district of Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the home of the popular Ritter Sport brand of chocolate. Geography Geographical location Waldenbuch is situated at an altitude reaching from 340 to 460 meters on the northern edge of Schönbuch forest, 16 km south of Stuttgart. Landesmuseum Württemberg
The Landesmuseum Württemberg (Württemberg State Museum) is the main historical museum of the Württemberg part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It emerged from the 16th-century “Kunstkammer” ( Cabinet of art and curiosities) of the dukes, later kings, of Württemberg who resided in Stuttgart. As a museum it was founded in 1862 by King William I. Collections in Stuttgart and Waldenbuch The museum's main location is the Old Castle in Stuttgart.
