Museum Of Municipal Collections In The Zeughaus
The Museum of Municipal Collections in the Zeughaus is an interdisciplinary exhibition building in Wittenberg that presents objects from archaeology and urban history, as well as natural history and ethnology. The director of the museum is Andreas Wurda. The armoury The former armoury („Zeughaus“) at Juristenstraße 16a, located on Arsenalplatz, is a listed building in the old town of Wittenberg. The registration number as a Wittenberg monument is 094 35933. The house was built in 1855 as a coach house (artillery carriage house) and has served both military and civilian purposes since then. In 2016/17, a general renovation was carried out and the historic façade facing Arsenalplatz was restored. Exhibition From 2015 to 2018, modern exhibition rooms with a combined area of more than 1500 square metres were created in several stages on three floors in the historic armoury. Reiner Haseloff
Reiner Haseloff (born 19 February 1954) is a German politician who serves as the Minister-President, Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt. On 9 October 2020, he was elected President of the Bundesrat. His one-year term started on 1 November 2020. Political career Reiner Haseloff joined the then bloc party CDU of the GDR in 1976. He has been a member of the state executive of the CDU Saxony-Anhalt since 1990 and was deputy district administrator of the Wittenberg district from 1990 to 1992. Nils Seethaler
Nils Seethaler (born August 18, 1981, in Berlin) is a German cultural anthropologist. He researches historical collections of ethnological objects and human remains. Personal life Nils Seethaler was born in Berlin-Lichterfelde and spent his youth in Berlin and in Morschen in northern Hesse. After graduating from the Elisabeth Knipping School in Kassel in 2000, Seethaler studied at the Freie Universität Berlin Ethnology with Georg Pfeffer and Markus Schindlbeck, literary studies with Ulrich Profitlich and Volker Mertens and political science with Fritz Vilmar and Walter Rothholz. Since 2012 he has been coordinating the archive of the Berlin Society for Anthropology, Ethnology and Prehistory at the Archaeological Center of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Julius Riemer
Julius Riemer (* 4 April 1880 in Berlin; † 17 November 1958 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg) was a German factory owner, natural history and ethnological collector and museum founder. Life as a factory owner and collector Julius Riemer grew up as the first child of a Berlin manufacturing family. As the eldest son, he was destined to be the main heir to the factory. His main interest throughout his life, however, was science, which he was unable to pursue due to time and family constraints. Collecting became a substitute for him here: a visit to the Museum of Natural History in Berlin, opened in 1889, together with his grandfather became a key experience for the nine-year-old Julius Riemer. Stadthaus (Wittenberg)
Stadthaus is a nine-storey residential building in Hackney, London. At nine stories (30 meters/98 feet), it is thought to be the second tallest timber residential structure in the world, after the Forte apartment complex in Melbourne, Australia. It was designed in collaboration between architects Waugh Thistleton, structural engineers Techniker, and timber panel manufacturer KLH. Stadthaus is the first high-density housing building to be built from pre-fabricated cross-laminated timber panels.
