The Museum of Biblical Art (MBA) in Dallas, Texas, USA, exhibits art with a Biblical theme. History The museum was founded in 1967 by Mattie Caruth Byrd. It was formerly known as the Biblical Arts Center. In 2005, a fire destroyed the museum and 2,500 works of art. The museum rebuilt and reopened in 2010 in a modern building with eleven galleries and 30,000 square feet of exhibition and event space. Gilbert Jerome "Gib" Singleton (1935 – February 28, 2014) was an American sculptor. Classically trained, he is considered to be a modern master of bronze sculpture. His primary sources of subject matter are the Bible and the American Old West. Biography Born Gilbert Singleton in Kennett, Missouri in 1936, he began developing his artistic abilities at an early age, using whatever materials were available to a young farm boy. He won his first art prize at the age of nine, taking a blue ribbon at the Dunklin County Fair. Barbara Hines
Barbara Hines (born 1950) is an American artist. Biography Hines was born Barbara Fritzsche in Germany, the daughter of Holocaust survivors. Her father served in the Luftwaffe but was imprisoned after they found out that his mother was Jewish; he later escaped and moved to West Germany where he married and had two children. The family then moved to Australia and her parents never again mentioned their Jewish ancestry to their children who were raised as Methodists. She had a dual degree in education and interior design and began her career as a high school teacher of French and English in Düsseldorf. She then moved to New York City to study interior design at the New York School of Interior Design and then enrolled in the Pratt Institute Environmental Design program. She also volunteered at the Museum of Modern Art where she was influenced by the works of Color Field painters Helen Frankenthaler and Gerhard Richter.
