In ancient Greek religion and mythology, the Muses ( grc, Μοῦσαι, Moûsai, el, Μούσες, Múses) are the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in ancient Greek culture. Melete, Aoede, and Mneme are the original Boeotian Muses, and Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania are the nine Olympian Muses. In modern figurative usage, a Muse may be a source of artistic inspiration. Nine Muses (band)
Nine Muses ( ko, 나인뮤지스, often stylized as 9Muses) was a South Korean girl group formed by Star Empire Entertainment in 2010 with an admission and graduation concept. The group consists of total of fourteen former members: Jaekyung, Bini, Rana, Lee Sem, Sera, Eunji, Euaerin, Minha, Hyuna, Sungah, Gyeongree, Hyemi, Sojin, and Keumjo. Following an unsuccessful debut with the single "No Playboy," the group's line-up changed with the release of the comeback single, "Figaro", which reached the Top 100 Billboard Charts. Then the group's single, "News", and its EP, ''Sweet Rendezvous'', both earned a peak popularity position of six, and with additional new members the group came back with follow-up albums ''Wild'', ''Dolls'', ''Prima Donna'' and their digital single "Glue" which ranked at number four and nine. ''Dream Country'' is the third full-length studio album by singer-songwriter Sarah Darling. It was first released digitally on February 10, 2017 by Be Darling Records, with a physical CD and LP concurrently release. The album includes the singles "Halley’s Comet" and "Where Cowboys Ride" as well as the Sarah Darling's cover of The Smiths song, "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want". Three music videos were also made to promote the release. A deluxe edition of the album was digitally released on the iTunes Store. In comics in the United States, a trade paperback (shortened: TPB or trade) is a collection of stories originally published in comic books, reprinted in book format, usually presenting either a complete miniseries, a story arc from a single title, or a series of stories with an arc or common theme. A trade paperback may reproduce the stories either at the same size in which they were originally presented (in comic book format), in a smaller "digest-sized" format, or a larger-than-original hardcover. This article applies to both paperback and hardcover collections. In the comics industry, the term "trade paperback market" may refer to the market for any collection, regardless of its actual cover. A trade paperback differs from a graphic novel in that a graphic novel is usually original material. Calliope (Sandman)
''Dream Country'' is the third trade paperback collection of the comic book series '' The Sandman'', published by DC Comics. It collects issues #17–20. It is written by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Kelley Jones, Charles Vess, Colleen Doran and Malcolm Jones III, coloured by Robbie Busch and Steve Oliff, and lettered by Todd Klein. It was first issued in paperback in 1991, and later in hardback in 1995 with an introduction by Steve Erickson. This volume contains four independent stories. The first story, "Calliope", contains the first reference to Dream's son Orpheus, who will play an important role later in the series. Eugene Curran Kelly (August 23, 1912 – February 2, 1996) was an American actor, dancer, singer, filmmaker, and choreographer. ''Xanadu'' is a 1980 American musical fantasy film written by Richard Christian Danus and Marc Reid Rubel, and directed by Robert Greenwald.
