Muscat Expressway
Muscat Expressway () is a major highway in Muscat, Oman, Muscat, the capital of Oman. The expressway runs largely parallel to Route 1 (Oman), Route 1 but further away from the coast and acts as a relief road. It is 54km long. The Batinah Expressway is a 256km 8-lane highway that continues from the Muscat Expressway in Halban to the United Arab Emirates border at Khatmat Malaha. Seeb
Al-Seeb, As Seeb or As Sib ( ar, السيب) is a coastal fishing city, located several kilometres northwest of Muscat, in northeastern Oman. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 470,878. Landmarks include the Naseem Garden, the Royal Stables and Equestrian Centre, Royal Guard of Oman Technical College, the Bait al Baraka palace, Muscat International Airport (formerly known as Seeb International Airport) and Markaz al Bahja. Bawshar
Bawshar ( ar, بوشر ''Bawšar'') is one of the wilayats of Muscat, in northeastern Oman. The province borders wilayat Muttrah in the east and Muscat International Airport in the west, it overlooks the Sea of Oman from the north. It contains several archaeological sites and the Qurm Nature Reserve Ramsar site. According to the 2010 National Census, the population of wilayat Bawshar was 192,235 spread over its 43 villages and towns. Route 1 (Oman)
Route 1 (Arabic: طريق ١) also known as the Sultan Qaboos Street or Al Batinah Highway is a major four-lane highway in the Sultanate of Oman, connecting Muscat, the capital city in the Sultanate and a hub for commercial activity, to the many coastal cities of Oman that sit alongside the Sea of Oman such as Seeb and Sohar. It also connects Muscat to the United Arab Emirates. Route description Route 1 begins in Muttrah which contains many important ministry buildings and most prominently the parliament building called Majlis Oman. After the roundabout it goes through the Muttrah Corniche. After the Corniche it goes through two roundabouts and then splits into two; one goes to the root of the city of Ruwi while the other continues straight passing through the suburbs of Qurum. Relief Road
A bypass is a road or highway that avoids or "bypasses" a built-up area, town, or village, to let through traffic flow without interference from local traffic, to reduce congestion in the built-up area, and to improve road safety. A bypass specifically designated for trucks may be called a truck route. If there are no strong land use controls, buildings are often built in town along a bypass, converting it into an ordinary town road, and the bypass may eventually become as congested as the local streets it was intended to avoid. Batinah Expressway
The Batinah Expressway is a 256 km 8-lane highway in Oman that connects the Muscat Expressway (a relief road in Muscat, the capital of Oman) at Halban with the United Arab Emirates border at Khatmat Malaha. It opened on 6 May 2018. History Batinah Expressway was opened to the public on 6 May 2018. One of the biggest road infrastructure projects in the Sultanate of Oman, it consists of 1,106 concrete channels, 25 bridges crossing wadis, 17 overhead bridges, 12 tunnels and other technical paraphernalia to overcome terrestrial obstacles.
