Murray Criddle
Murray John Criddle (born 11 December 1943) was an Australian politician and farmer at Binnu, Western Australia. Criddle was born in Geraldton and educated at Ogilvie Primary School and Christ Church Grammar School. After leaving high school he farmed at Binnu from 1961. He was an active sports participant in the district and played 207 Australian Rules football games for the Northampton Rams. Criddle was a National Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Council from 1993 to 2008, representing the Agricultural electoral region. Richard Court
Richard Fairfax Court (born 27 September 1947) is a former Australian politician and diplomat. He served as Premier of Western Australia from 1993 to 2001 and as Australian Ambassador to Japan from 2017 to 2020. A member of the Liberal Party, he represented the Perth-area electorate of Nedlands in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 1982 to 2001. His father, Sir Charles Court, also served as state premier. Early life Court was born into a political family. His father, Sir Charles Court, was the previous member for Nedlands (1953–1982) and served as Premier from 1974 to 1982. Minister for Transport is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Rita Saffioti of the Labor Party. The position was first created in 1945, in the ministry formed by Frank Wise, and has existed in almost every government since then. The minister is responsible for the Department for Transport. The Western Australian Legislative Council is the upper house of the Parliament of Western Australia, a state of Australia. It is regarded as a house of review for legislation passed by the Legislative Assembly, the lower house. The two Houses of Parliament sit in Parliament House in the state capital, Perth. Effective on 20 May 2005, for the election of members of the Legislative Council, the State was divided into 6 electoral regions by community of interest —3 metropolitan and 3 rural—each electing 6 members to the Legislative Council.. Ogilvie, Western Australia
Ogilvie is a small town in the Mid West region of Western Australia. Other than sheep, agriculturally the area was known for wheat, barley, oats, lupins, Wimmera rye, and clover. The area is about 70 kilometres north of Geraldton, and includes the small Ogilvie Nature Reserve. The town was named by 1916 as a farming community, likely to have been named after Andrew Jameson Ogilvie (–8 October 1906), the land owner of the nearby Murchison House Station. Over time the locale was serviced by a railway siding of the same name. The Ogilvie State School was in existence by 1917, while two acres of land was set aside for a tennis court in the same year. The Ogilvie Agricultural Hall was opened in May 1919. This public hall was used for dances, a church, and as the local school. By 1953, the hall also had a supper room and nursery.
