Murputja, South Australia
__NOTOC__ Murputja is an Aboriginal community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara in South Australia. In 2007, four South Australia Police officers were based at Murputja and running patrols in the area. There was a rudimentary shed structure that served as a police station when police were present and some new housing had been built for police officers. As of 2018, the APY Lands were served by stations situated at Amata, Ernabella, Mimili, Murputja, Umuwa and the town of Marla. Specialist policing support is located at Umuwa, including CIB and domestic violence investigators. Time zone Due to its links with the Northern Territory and proximity to the border, the APY Lands do not observe daylight savings unlike the rest of South Australia. Marla, South Australia
Marla is a town and locality in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's north-west about north-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about south of the town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. History Marla was constituted as a government town under the ''Crown Lands Act 1929-1980'' on 21 May 1981 and was gazetted as a locality under the ''Geographical Names Act 1991'' on 8 February 2001 with the assigned boundaries being similar to that of the government town. The name is derived from the ''Marla Bore'' which is located to west of Marla and whose name is reported as being ultimately "a corruption of the Aboriginal marlu – 'a kangaroo'". Geoffrey H. Murputja Anangu School
Anungu schools is a group of ten schools operated by the Government of South Australia which are located in the west of the Australian state of South Australia. Eight are located in the Aboriginal lands of Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY lands), while one is in Maralinga Tjarutja and on in the community of Yalata, all offering primary and secondary schooling to a local body of students who are largely Aboriginal. Umuwa
Umuwa is an Aboriginal community in Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY lands) in South Australia, serving as an administrative centre for the six main communities on "The Lands", as well as the outlying communities. It is located approximately north-west of Marla and south-west of Alice Springs. History Umuwa was established in 1991 as the administrative and service centre for the APY Lands, to move the governance from Alice Springs. In March 2024, the Kulilaya Festival was held at Umuwa to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1981 ''APY Land Rights Act''.
