Murda Ma$e
Mason Durell Betha (born August 27, 1975), better known by his stage name Mase (often stylized as Ma$e), is an American rapper. Best known for his work with Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records, he signed with the label in 1996 and quickly found mainstream recognition as Combs' hype man. He guest appeared on Combs' 1997 single " Can't Nobody Hold Me Down", which peaked atop the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, while his first two singles as a lead artist, " Feel So Good" (featuring Kelly Price) and " What You Want" (featuring Total), both peaked within the chart's top ten. Released in October of that year, his debut studio album, ''Harlem World'' (1997), peaked atop the ''Billboard'' 200 chart, received quadruple platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and spawned his third top ten single as a lead artist, "Lookin' at Me" (featuring Puff Daddy). "Feel So Good" is a song by American rapper Mase, released by Arista and Bad Boy Records on October 14, 1997 as both his debut single and the lead single for his debut album, ''Harlem World'' (1997). The song also acted as lead single for the soundtrack to the Chris Tucker film '' Money Talks''. Its production — which samples Kool & the Gang's " Hollywood Swinging" and interpolates the Miami Sound Machine's " Bad Boy" — was handled by Bad Boy's in-house producer Deric Angelettie, as well as label boss Sean "Puffy" Combs. The latter provides backing vocals, while R&B singer Kelly Price performs the chorus. "Feel So Good" brought Mase the most commercial success as a lead artist. Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974February 15, 1999), known professionally as Big L, was an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Emerging from Harlem in New York City in 1992, Big L became known among underground hip-hop fans for his freestyling ability. He was eventually signed to Columbia Records, where, in 1995, he released his debut studio album, '' Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous''. He was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Harlem in 1999. "Been Around the World" is a song by American rapper Puff Daddy, featuring the Notorious B.I.G. and Mase and included on Puff Daddy's debut studio album '' No Way Out'' (1997). The song samples David Bowie's 1983 hit song " Let's Dance", and contains an interpolation of Lisa Stansfield's song " All Around the World", sung by the Notorious B.I.G. in the chorus. In the album version, the song concludes with a skit featuring an interview with "The Mad Producer". The song was released as a single on November 14, 1997; it was the fourth single released from the album.
