Guy Murchie (Jr.) (25 January 1907 – 8 July 1997) was an American writer about science and philosophy: aviation, astronomy, biology, and the meaning of life. He was, successively, a world traveler; a war correspondent; a photographer, staff artist, and reporter for the ''Chicago Tribune''; a pilot and flight instructor; a teacher; a lecturer; an aerial navigator; a building contractor; and founder and director of a summer camp for children. He was a practising member of the Baháʼí Faith. His books included ''Men on the Horizon'' (1932), ''Song of the Sky'' (1954), ''Music of the Spheres'' (1961), and ''The Seven Mysteries of Life'' (1978). Peter Murchie
Peter Edward Murchie (born 7 January 1986) is a Scottish professional rugby union coach for Glasgow Warriors and a former Scotland international player. He previously was an assistant coach for Stade Niçois; and head coach for Ayr and then the Ayrshire Bulls. He formerly played for Glasgow Warriors in the Guinness Pro12, making over 100 appearances for the club. His playing position was full-back. James Stafford Murchie
James Stafford Murchie (c.1850 – 12 September 1888), usually known as J. S. Murchie, was a British trade unionist. Born in Carlisle, Murchie moved to Manchester with his family while young, and became a carpenter. Known for his wide reading on trade and social matters, he became active in the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners (ASC&J), and quickly rose in importance. In 1876, he chaired the union's strike committee during major industrial action, and he was soon elected as chair of the union's executive committee. James Murchie
James Murchie (August 16, 1813 – May 27, 1900) was a farmer, businessman and political figure in New Brunswick. He represented Charlotte County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1875 to 1878 as a Liberal member. Biography He was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, the son of Daniel Murchie and Janet Campbell, both natives of Scotland. In 1836, he married Mary Ann Grimmer. John Carl Murchie
Lieutenant General John Carl Murchie (June 7, 1895 – March 5, 1966) was a Canadian soldier and Chief of the General Staff, the head of the Canadian Army from December 27, 1943, until August 21, 1945. Military career Murchie graduated with a Military Qualification certificate from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario in 1915 during World War I. He served with the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery, Canadian Army, in France from 1915 to 1917. He remained in the army during the interwar period, where he attended the Staff College, Camberley from 1929 to 1930. He also served in World War II and became a General Staff Officer at National Defence Headquarters in 1939. In 1940 he became Director of Military Operations and in 1941 he was made Director of Military Training & Staff Duties.
